New PC - Installing UO

So, I just built a new computer with Win 10. I have lots of UO install discs that are 10 - 17 yrs old. I would like to not have to sit through 5 hrs of downloading updates. What is the best way to install UO on a new computer these days?

Grab the patcher for the client you want from the official Ultima Online website. This is the only choice at the moment, since there hasn't been a disc release of the game since Mythic changed to the new patcher.

Hit install then login and sit back with a nice cold adult beverage.

Start Lord of the Rings from the begining and once you are through all 6 movies (extended version my personal fav) you will have a short wait to hit play!

If you still have your old computer and it still works, copy over all of the .mul files (saves from having to download them). Might even be able copy more than that, I haven't really tried lately as I just download it.

Man, where are all you folks? The last CC patch was more than 500MB and the game is what, around 2G to download? The 500MB patch took me 4 minutes. I downloaded CC and EC on a new Win 10 comp from the official website and I know it didn't take more than 20 minutes for all to finish and ready to play. Copy over your user files after download and you're ready to go.

Yeah, unless people live in the middle of nowhere with **** internet, they really need to join this century already.

Thanks! I did late last night. It only took about 20-25 min to fully patch. I have a very fast internet connection, etc.

They added freaking Legolas to the film! LEGOLAS!
And created a freaking female elf to be the love interest of a dwarf! And destroyed the book mood to make it more LOTR like!
AND made 3 films out of a much thinner book!

The Hobbit gets no love from me, only hate.

I keep a backup of my UO folders on an external hard drive. Once in awhile I re copy the UO folder just to make sure it stays up to date.
