Ive heard some players are able to place 1 house per shard on multiple shards under the same account (without entering house decay timer) due to some sort of an account bug? Is that true?
That somebody exploited?A Bug in UO
Seems like a risky bug to exploit.Ive heard some players are able to place 1 house per shard on multiple shards under the same account (without entering house decay timer) due to some sort of an account bug? Is that true?
No dont bother testing, its a very old bug, some accounts still benefit from it as far as i know... Its like the lmc bugged chars for example, just wondering if anyone knows anyone who got this bug, so i mainly made this post to make sure if this bug actually exists! Not true because I placed a small shop earlier on another shard, knowing that the other house on that account would go into decay - just checked before I dropped it and it had.
Whats causes this pls?I know there is accounts that do have multi houses on one shard... There called grandfathered in houses
Well before the one house one shard rule you had houses on every shard and had to refresh it much like refreshing a boat, opening a door.(possible) . Some players back then decided to keep the houses they had and not ask for the auto refresh (If I remember this right) on a key house on that account. That is why today as long as your account is paid up to date your house remains standing. Those houses became Grandfathered. That how I remember it, again I may be wrong, being I am 65yrs and forget a lot of stuff, thank god for bless rune books.Whats causes this pls?
It's nothing that causes it person who owns the account already had the multi-houses on their accounts before the housing rules changed.Whats causes this pls?
Are you talking about Grandfathered Houses or are you trying to find out if there is a bug, which should be reported to UO ASAP by the way, with the understanding that you may not discuss how to about bugs/exploits. I gave up all my grandfathered houses when I consolidated down to 2 accounts and got Castles.Ive heard some players are able to place 1 house per shard on multiple shards under the same account (without entering house decay timer) due to some sort of an account bug? Its the grandfathered accounts that im talking about it seems. Sorry for confusing some of u, im not talking about any recent bug or exploits. I was just wondering if it was still possible for some account to own more than one house at a time on different shards. Are you talking about Grandfathered Houses or are you trying to find out if there is a bug, which should be reported to UO ASAP by the way, with the understanding that you may not discuss how to about bugs/exploits. Technically, yes, but only if Mesanna is directly involved...and those houses are temporary for things such as rares fests and the like. Its the grandfathered accounts that im talking about it seems. Yeah i remember deleting that house for you Akasha, good man!few years ago, this bug happened to me. I demolished my house(atl), xfered char on europa placed a house there and then Atlantic crashed.
When Atlantic came back after few hours. my old house was there again with the character i xfered .... Of course i called a GM to delete it
And just how would you know if someone hasn't been in the house for ages for if the owner came occasionally or every day, they still look the same.I think u will find theres many olde grandfathered houses still standing on all shards that are unused in decades...just bugged to stand there in the 2003/2004 deco forever....and a day....till time is finally called they will still be there in there basic olde school beauty
okies.....uve got me..... maybe they have not added any deco since 2003... that would make perfect sense....no item ...not one.....u win.....bugged houses dont exsist....[whatever] hey you believe what YOU want to believe!.....iam stating facts that some olde style houses still have deco from back in them days....and yes u could be right!!!! oh yes a player could be using that house thrice daily but they just dont want to add any new deco that came after publish 16 or whatever publish in 2002/03And just how would you know if someone hasn't been in the house for ages for if the owner came occasionally or every day, they still look the same.
Ok, ya made me curious, how do you deco them little 7X7 noncustomizable buggers? That's what a large part of those are? I'm not trying to say that there aren't a lot of bugged old houses and that they should fall but some of them, perhaps a lot are pretty much in the same state as those bugged ones.okies.....uve got me..... maybe they have not added any deco since 2003... that would make perfect sense....no item ...not one.....u win.....bugged houses dont exsist....[whatever] hey you believe what YOU want to believe!.....iam stating facts that some olde style houses still have deco from back in them days....and yes u could be right!!!! oh yes a player could be using that house thrice daily but they just dont want to add any new deco that came after publish 16 or whatever publish in 2002/03
really i aint fussed want u think...iam telling you UO facts that there are many olde style houses bugged to never fall- similar to the olde ''un-named/ no owner'' ones....now i bid u a good day...
But do you see those things when you just do a driveby? Only thing you can do is put up a sign or put something on the porch steps I think. I'm not trying to be difficult but just saying some of the houses folks think are abandoned are really not. If it's a housesign tells you that, then ok I understandmy guild mate's houses that are scattered on multi shards where deco'ed frozen in time circa 1998 then i picked him up a couple things for his houses, couple of those dungeon globes and such, then he went and added a bunch of stuff to them (soulforges ect) so people do actually update their old grandfathered houses..... just not much.
