7th & 8th Public PVM-Event at June 11 and June 25

Dear Siegeians,

last Saturday was a wonderful experience - again alot of players joined the hunt. We counted 26 characters attending the White Net Toss at New Mag Docks!

In order to prevent schedule collisions, I am announcing the Public PVM-Events for June now at the same time:

7th Public PVM-Event will start at June 11. ATTENTION: We will start at 10 pm CET this time, which should be 4 pm EST (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG!).

8th Public PVM-Event will start at June 25 - same time as usual: 9 pm CET = 3 pm EST (I hope I am correct, mixing it up all the time).

I have not made up my mind about potential targets, but we could do Doom, Corgul, Slasher, Stygian Dragon, Abyssal Infernal, Primeval Lich, Lord Oaks, Dragon Turtle Spawn, Cora the Sorceress - or anything else. You can write me a PM (as always) and register for the hunt and tell me your wishes

Hello everybody!

As Saturday approaches rapidly, here are the Infos for the upcoming event:

We meet at Saturday 11 at New Magincia Mint at 10 pm Central European Time (which should be 4 pm Eastern Time, correct?). I will make a group or two for all players and tell you what we will hunt this time.

One hint: We will hunt a boss that hasnt been our target so far. Which means: We are not going to kill the Stygian Dragon, Travesty, Osiredon, Navrey, or Dark Fathers. Come and find out!

I promise, it will be a great adventure!

P.S.: In case I will be elected as governor of Yew, these hunts will become part of my governorship-activities. I am planning to offer rewards for those who attend the hunts on a regular basis, such as customizable character titles, items and gold. Yew will be the Sosarian capital of monster hunts and we shall all rally around one flag - regardless if red or blue - defending the world of humans, elves and gargoyles against unnatural and evil creatures.

Good morning, everybody!

Our hunt yesgerday was an "interesting" experience. Maybe, because there was a VvV-event at the same time (which I did not know), only 6 people joined. Nevertheless, we sticked to our plan to fight Corgul this time, because some players explicitly wished so. We boarded Herman Toothrot´s Frigate "USS Nordberg" and sailed to Corgul´s enchanted island...



I knew it would be very hard to win this fight, especially, because we did not have the perfect templates with us. But it was worth a try. We circled the island 3-4 times and killed all of Corgul´s minions. That was no task for us...



And then we faced Corgul himself. This was a far more challenging taks, as he has 80+ resist and we struggled to damage him. It took a while to to realize that we had no chance to kill him. This was the moment, when I called for the Cavalry. There are not many players with such a high level of PVM-skills and experiences which can compare to GIL-players - and as I knew that helping players is part of their DNA, I asked Hoffs for help. Luckily, Leawyn II came back from work and asked in GC if we need help - a nice coincidence. 3 minutes later Hoffs and Brutus came and discoed Corgul and attacked him with a Wraith-Archer.



Now with a group of 8 players we managed to kill Corgul quite fast - and all of us got a nice present from him: Sashes, books and tons of fantastic loot.

It was a challenge and a nice experience. And it was an example for teamwork and players of a shard sticking together. Thanks to Tanivar, Who Dat, Starcon, Armand, my wife and Hoffs and Tjalle for coming and sharing the adevnture.

My lessons:

(1) I will train disco next. As organizator of public hunts I should take care, that we have disco in all respective situations.

(2) I was such an idiot when I planned my first hunts and wrote lengthy guildes about how to fight the monsters in threads/PM-messages. Because there are some players, who know such things far better than me. I can only laugh about my naivety and I hope they understand: I was new and had no idea to whom I was talking.

(3) I know this is Siege and there are "party lines" between certain guilds and persons. But if there is one thing that is beyond doubt, then it is the fact that there are certain players/groups with a level of professionality, dedication and kindness, you wont find anywhere. I am impressed!

I'll have to finish training my Bard skills to 115. Maybe that's high enough. Casting spells at Corgul, even the mastery Death Ray, was like throwing paper wads at him, and no more effective. Sheesh ...

Got Legendary Music with Peace & Discord within a skill bracelet of 120. Provo is still 25 gains to 107 thanks to GDs shadowing me around but I'll likely have it within the bracelet 13 by the hunt on the 25th.

Dang not having Stealth is going to screw up my hunting tactics.

Disco does nice things. I went and farmed some boura pelts and Ebolts have a lot more effect on discoed bouras. Disco/Provo definitely makes them easier kills.
