Shield bash = physical damage?

Hey,
I was wondering why shield bash doesnt count as physical damage (reflect physical damage) tho it says so in patch notes.

Any idea about that?

hmm yes, bit of a strange one, it does indeed to physical damage, (but capped at 35 in pvp). Should really work with rpd @Kyronix

Bombard & Earthquake spells do physical damage as well but they do not reflect damage via RPD,
Chaos damage spells would hit physical resist 20% of the time, they also do not reflect. That part is working as intended.

I'd imagine Shield-Bash, counts as a "Spell-effect" since the shield has no base damage, and the damage done is additive regardless if you're using wrestling or an actual weapon, similar to Nerve Strike, as a weapon has no effect on the damage of shield-bash.

Actually i think you'll find nerve strike hits what is called direct damage.

HCI helps your chance of landing a shield-bash, much like a dexer using hci to hit you with their weapon. so yes.

Right, but I was using it as an example as far as shield-bashes damage is applied the same way. it's basically a hit-spell effect.
Also that there are other things that deal "physical" damage that don't reflect via RPD.
