Question on shield bash

Is there a formula that calculates the chance of a successful shield bash? do you require Hit Chance Increase?

I've used the buff over a hundred times and not bashed anyone yet.

I think you need parry

I think it only goes off on a successful parry

Shield bash has two ways of successfully landing.

#1) weapon hit while shield-bash is toggled. (Hit chance helps your chances)
#2) on successful parry. (RNG)

Wrestling + Parry seems to be the most effective way to get successful shield bash, as it's a time-based toggle which takes mana when you activate it, it stays toggled for approximately 5-6 seconds-ish

Maybe a weird question, but who/what are you trying to bash? We've enjoyed the shield bash on our gargoyle swordsman, his parry is around 103.something and he has used it in Shame 1. So mainly on mud pies, and also on a few gargoyles outside the shame entrance, they certainly didn't like shield bash! Hit 1 gargoyle for 144 dmg this evening.
