Can't switch forms with Ninjitsu

So earlier er well late last night I was on Siege RPing with a friend and I was on one of my characters with Ninjitsu... I wanted to switch into rabbit form so I tried to use the form changing move from my book of Ninjitsu... I was not doing anything else and had just recently logged in and it told me "You cannot use that skill at this time.".... I was like "?" So I thought hum..... maybe it's the Honor bug..... so I wandered off and found a good target honored it killed it and tried to switch forms again..... this time using the icon off my hotbar. I didn't get any message at all and the selection box for the forms did NOT come up.

Currious I opened my book of Ninjitsu and tried to cast it again out of the book.... got the same message as before... "You cannot use that skill at this time." Totally perplexed now I tried resetting Pinco's with a ctrl+R and tried the book again and once again got the message, "You cannot use that skill at this time." So I tried honoring the nearest mob and killing it as before and then tried the skill from the icon on my hotbar... once again it seemed to cast but NO MENU. If I run and cast it with my macro it turns me into a dog and back again but I can't get the menu to show up.

Any ideas? Anyone else having the issue???

Your not using necromancy also are you? ie, your not in some other 'form' altering state already?

nb, I just logged in and dropped Ninja onto a char to test, I can form change with no problems.

It sounds like the bug where the timer on using skills gets glitched. Try using a blue gem skill like evaluate intelligence and see if you get the same message. These days, you just have to page a GM for this bug and get the to fix it. The old methods that we used to use to fix this issue no longer seem to work.

I find opening/closing the paperdoll resets that timer quite well.

I've had the same problem on a few characters recently. Do you have a Mastery Book in your pack? I've only started noticing this since Eodon came out.

If I run and cast it with my macro it turns me into a dog and back again but I can't get the menu to show up.

When moving, the menu never shows up and you always toggle between your last animal form and human form.

First idea was, that you have the disguise kit on, but since you can transform into a dog, that's most probably not the case.
Because you just reset Pinco's UI, try to swicth back to the default UI, just to check, if it works with that. If that still doesn't work, I'd give it a shot with the classic client.

I'll try the suggestions...... I may have somehow moved it off screen and I may have to cast it and do that thing where you put all the stuff on your screen up in the corner or I may just have to delete the profile and start anew. It might be buggy. But I'm glad no one else has the issue.

Last time I accidentally shoved something off screen I changed the ui scale to something like 70%, reclaimed the missing item and then changed the scale back.

Well I don't know what it is but I tried everything I can think of. I tried rescaling the UI as that sounded like a good idea, I tried resetting all UI locks, that didn't work, I tried honor something and doing it that didn't work, I tried using anatomy and that didn't work, I tried getting a new Ninjitsu book..... that didn't work, I tried deleting the profile and starting a new one ..... that didn't work.... I tried it in 2d that worked fine and I was able to cast it just fine but one thing I noticed while in the 2d client is the interface was the normal EC interface clear background. Which IMO was odd. So I went back to Pinco's tried it again and once again NOTHING comes up when I use the Animal Form. So I switch to the "Default UI" for the EC and it works but the menu is the CC menu..... gray solid background. VERY odd.

It is a bug within Pinco's UI. I was having this issue yesterday, turned off Pinco's & it worked. Still not working on Pinco's though, so you'll likely just have to get used to the old enhanced client for Ninjutsu characters. - Playing on Legends shard

Excellent news, thanks a bunch. Busy week at work & I completely spaced on the fact I should have just done a bug report.

I play EC with out Pinco's. This usually happens to me when I fail a shadow jump, miss target and retry it too quickly. This affects my ability to hide, change form and be cool.

I forget who recommended that I toggle the "paper doll" open and closed was but that trick always works for me.

I think "you are too busy doing something else" springs to mind.
