Scalis' Loot Table

Is depressing.

10 people in party (dropped party before it died.) Tank (both taking and doing the most damage) had 1000 luck from perfection, 1000 luck from being in fel and 2730 luck on his suit. All 10 people got looting rights. We did Scalis twice with this exact setup.

Total Legendaries: 4
Total Major Artifacts: 10

The amount of items were accurate - around 25 items per person. Most of which was cursed, and not an of lesser artifact or lower.

That is between 10 people, over 2 Scalis, with 4730 luck.

The time that went into doing these, it just wasn't worth it to continue throwing nets... Would be worth more to sell the nets.

Can someone please take a look at his table? Thank you for reading.

Ma Nerva on Atlantic does a shard toss Sunday's at 12 EST. We go through Scalis after Scalis. She pulls so many on some Sunday's I think her RNG luck is way better than the 25%. I think I've only not gotten a legendary one weekend.

On the second Scalis, the tank with 4730 luck didn't get one legendary nor one major artifact.

There should be multiple legendaries though. This guy's difficulty is comparable to Exodus - where you get multiple legendaries per person

Was lucky on the nets though, 2 nets = 2 Scalis.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... sea creatures in UO often get crap loot..... look at sea serpents, deep sea serpents, the Krakens and Leviathans if you want any proof.... why should scalis not suck just as much as they do.

First Scalis I did I managed to get a 1 tile soul forge.... since then about 200 of them later I got 1 more of them.... but NOTHING in between all that... The droprates of goods off of sea creatures and even MiB's has always been lacking.

About a year ago I mentioned a Tier idea for obtaining items from any Champion/Boss to avoid the nasty RNG
Different Levels of Tiers
Gain points by defeating a champion multiple times

10 champions defeated allows you to pick item from Tier 1
25 champions defeated allows you to pick item from Tier 2
50 champions allows you to pick item from Tier 3
100 Champions defeated allows you to pick from Tier 4
500 champions defeated and you win UO :)

*items would be what we have now and maybe some new items (deco ect) nothing OP but worth the squeeze :)*
This is the basic concept and would evolve much more detail/additions but a great idea IMO
This way you renew old systems without doing much work, Peerless,Doom,Champ Spawns ect
It also lets people work towards goals instead of hoping RNG lands on there head.

Around 18 months ago, Scalis loot was too OP. It was probably dropping way more than what it's worth. They nerfed it... but probably nerfed it too hard. Artifact drops still seem fair, but the general loot is almost not worth it at this point.

This would be really fun. Like blackthornes but people wouldn't be scripting it. Champions could be like Shadowguard, Shadowlords, Exodus, etc.

I had a feeling this is what happened and yeah it got nerfed way too hard because what it is now does not reflect on the monsters difficulty what-so-ever. If people do this now (as I read in a post on this thread) then it's for a community hunt of some kind, or a player-run event if you will... Something fun for people to get together and accomplish some goal. The reward is not good enough to make this an encounter actually worth doing, however.

This is a difficult boss and should have the quality of loot to reflect that.

Exodus is actually harder, since he can follow you when Osiredon can't come onto land. Plus Exodus can't be Discoed or provoked onto. Not to mention keying for Exodus is harder, since each and every person needs their own copy of the keys.

I understand the mechanics of the Exodus fight, but what most players that I've seen that do Exodus, they can do it like Scalis - at a range. They set it up so Exodus never hits them in melee. Whereas you need a tank (someone within range) of Scalis.

If you want to be technical about the keys, you need to fish up a fabled net, and there's no guarantee you will get Scalis when you throw the net. Whereas Exodus you're just flat-out farming keys for a guaranteed boss.

My point is, they are two very different encounters, but the difficulty levels and time required are quite similar.

I do a net toss every month and in October we had one person get a primer, seahorse statuette and single tile soulforge. I honestly think it's just a dice roll with them as this is the first time out of at least hundreds of nets that someone got something "spectacular".

I haven't actually done enough to build an opinion on the backpack drops, just enough to know that as a person hunting for loot (and by loot I mean non-artifact armor and weapons) that it's just not worth the time.

BTW thank you for what you do for your community :)

I understand. I really don't pay attention to the corpse loot TBH. Matter of fact, I don't attack or loot at all, so the people at the toss get all the rights and drops and I get none. However, now and again I hear players talk of nice artifacts and such they received.

Awe, well thank you kindly! I try to give back at least 2-3 times a month with my own events. It's the least I could do for a community that has brought me great joy in my many years of playing.

I agree that Exodus is more difficult and should have better loot... but Scalis general loot needs a small bump at the very least.

Before they nerfed it, I was getting 4-5 legendaries on every corpse. Now I am lucky to get 1 legendary from a half a dozen corpses and the only major artifacts I'm getting seem to be those 'bracelets of sorcery' which there are a thousand of in-game. I find this to be the case with smaller Scalis hunts (i.e., seven or eight guildies) or the larger shard-wide public hunts (where you can get 30-40 or more people depending on the weekend). I think there can be a happy medium in between these two scenarios.

From what I can tell, there are no bosses that are in between Corgul to Exodus as far as loot quality goes. Like if Medusa/Mel was 7, Corgul was an 8, Exodus is 9 and Shadowguard is 10.

Scalis might be a little easier than Exodus, but not enough to make Scalis's loot table like Corgul's. Scalis's loot table should be better than Corgul's is all I'm saying - if that's at all possible.

Also I think they nurfed it before the events for the colored crystals, the one crystal where they spawned like 20 scalis on each shard. Not sure though.. but it was def before that event.

I hadn't heard that Scalis was nerfed, but what you say makes sense. I can say I've not been getting the great loot everybody was talking about since I started doing the Atlantic net tosses twice a week about three months ago (thanks to Ma Minerva). Really, the main thing that keeps me coming back is the chance of getting the small soul forge or or a book drop. I get a couple of legendaries most weekends - our of maybe 10 scalis - but as you know, most legendaries aren't really worth anything or of any practical use. I have about 50 legendaries in a chest, and I doubt if I could sell one of them in Trader's Hall.

Thanks for keeping those net tosses going. I try to catch them whenever I can.
