I could swear that there is something you can say at the Stable to get a count of how many pets you have and how many slots you have available... but for the life of me I simply can't remember what it is. I'm starting to wonder if I was dreaming about it. Anyone have any idea what it is?

The maximum amount of stable slots any one character can have is sixteen:
Five slots for having 240.0+ taming skills, nine bonus slots for the three taming skills at levels 100.0, 110.0, and 120.0 plus 2 bonus slots for being SA upgraded.

Stable slots are based on current skill level including jewelry. A character with 99.0 skill in one of the three skills can get an additional bonus slot by wearing a piece of +1.0 skill jewelry in that skill. When the jewelery is removed, the creature will remain in the stable.

You can check your number of filled/total stabling slots by the command "stablecount".

Use of the stable is a key factor in "bonding" a pet to an owner.

In case some don't know though...Taming mastery has to be active to get those extra slots. If you switch masteries you lose them.

And then can't restable your pet until you switch back to Taming Mastery.

Exactly the same situation as those whose stable slots depend on skill points on jewellery. Take the jewels off and the pet can't be stabled.
It is annoying as all get out. I'd grab a beetle out of the stables to Mine or Log in the past and have to soulstone a dozen skills to get the stable slots to put in back in the stables after I was done gathering materials to craft with and then get back to a non tamer skill set.

I've now got four fighting pets and two beetles and can put any of them, anytime, back into the stables when done with them, no soulstoning required. No more Dev cussing.
