Oh, that's the "sale". Last time duping zerged they went down to 5-10m.

Origin just had a sale on tokens, So if it was 33%, tokens would have sold around $13.5.

Translate that into uo gold would be about 42 mill at .30 a mil.

if you also remember, the tokens bought by unsuspecting players were around 55m when the dupe first hit. As i also mentioned, note the guild / vendors they are sold from. I highly doubt knowing who is involved that they would be selling the tokens for need of gold, especially at the rate you quoted, which is extremely high.

So i knew when i posted this there would be the normal flood of nay-sayers and trolls. What it comes down to is player reputation, deciding for yourself what the risk is and if something is legitmate or not.

we all know how many un-suspecting players bought the tokens last time around when nothing was yet apparent and lost out on all that gold.

I just want everyone to be aware.

Its also always best to report any suspicious activity using the in game report feature (physical harrassment) so that the devs can assess the problem (if any)

I am Not a GM or Dev, but am basing this post off the last few days observation, the player names / guilds involved, and the history of how such influxes of items / tokens have played out in the past.

Personally i would not risk marks on my account, bans, or loss of gold just for some cheap tokens. If i do need one, ill be buying from origin.

Before this gets out of hand, I remind everyone that making accusations against identifiable players or guilds is not acceptable. Such accusations constitute personal attacks under the Stratics Rules of Conduct. Tread lightly.

As has been pointed out, the Origin store recently had a sale. A sudden influx of tokens could be related to that, or not. If you suspect duping, send any evidence you have to Broadsword directly.

I'm quite confident these tokens aren't duped. I am very confident that these tokens are bought with stolen credit cards, though. On reported stolen purchases, Origin does a very poor job of actually removing the purchased merchandise- something that is often impossible in a game like UO where many of these items are consumed soon after being bought. Not to minimize the problem, but a dupe is not to blame for this; instead it's low risk credit card scams at work.

These scams combined with the origin sale (re: buying bulk tokens with stolen money), the current prices make a lot of sense.

If you also remember the dude was stocking them non stop. Currently there are three for sale maybe one of two are around 55m.

THis.... AGAIN FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME!!!!!!!!! non vendor-able doesnt = dupe. You can still put duped items on vendors. The rule is ineffective not a good judge if an item is duped or not.

UO failed to write a code that prevented all dupes from getting on vendors... They probably do catch a lot... but definitely not all.

They failed at it when transferring to another shard.

And if they failed at the code altogether there are still only three for sale ranging from 55 - 72m.

They Also have issues with regular items being non vendor able.

But I think it's safe that common sense applies here.

Yes the screen is more cartoony and is bad but I've never cared about the artwork much.

However in this case I'm willing to bet origin made money from the sales.

As far as previously duped items, buying those directly benefited me so I didn't care how much uo made.

again, it comes down to who is selling them. i highly doubt the players involved would need to pay those prices just for 45 / 55 mil. People who already have extra billions would most likely not pay that high of a conversion rate for even more extra gold.

Well not necessarily. They are marking up the value if they're at 55 mil ea. so from a gold value of 42 that's 13m profit or 4 bucks a token.

@Smoot you keep mentioning "guilds" let's just be frank about it. because there's a vendor at my guild's house thats selling discounted tokens, you now have to bring this up and start throwing out words like "DUPING"... there's no secret what the agenda is.. you don't like us... we do business with everyone everyday and not a single one of them have ever had a issue with us...
with that said, i do like the free advertisement. it works well.

So. What we have here is zero evidence of duping and an allegation that "a certain guild" must be doing something wrong based solely on who they are. Yeah, we're done here.
