Returning Player - What older items are rares?

Hi Guys,

I'm returning to Ultima online after about a 9 year bit of time off.

I remember having one of those black horses (it was rare when I bought it) that you didnt need a taming skill to ride, hooded shroud of shadows and a few other bits. Are these still rare and worth money? Is there anything I should look out for that may be of value now? Or is there anything any of you are hoping to find or something that may return that I may have?

I'm on Europa but would appreciate all advice!!

If you could let me know then that would be great.

There are MANY things that are rare now and honestly too many for folks to just list. I would suggest making a list of items you suspect and posting it here

the horse is rare, worth around 40 - 80m now. hooded shroud is no longer rare. they are obtainable from a legacy token which can be purchased from the UO store. that being said, no one ever chooses them because value is already very low. usually around 500k to 1mil. most people choose the soulstone cause its the highest value at around 30mil.

If you have any items that are Double Blessed (Blessed) or items with [exceptional] in brackets like that...or Items that say Sewn by in the title...those would be rare and I would love to buy them.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm pretty I have some of the (blessed) and exeptional items, I can double check it later. I'm pretty sure I have items which are crafted or made by a specific name too... I can go on a little later and give you a list of bits I think might be of interest.

I also saw in my bank a red sword which had something about Lord Blackthorn on it? Is that a rare or anything? I was thinking maybe weapons now days are pretty pants compared to old standards, I have some PvP weapons that were amazing 9 years ago but probably rubbish now.

I have around 9mil in the bank... is that a lot in now days standards? I lost most of my money which was stored in my property which would of fallen down...

I went online last night around 9-10pm UK time and no-one was around in Europa at all... I mean I didnt see one person? Is this normal? Is there a new hanging out place rather than the bank at Britain? I'm soooo out of the loop!!

9m isnt going to get you very far. But if you have some (Blessed) or [exceptional] items then I am going to pay you pretty well for them so gold will not be a issue long. I think most regular players and PVPers hover around 60-100m. But you got some people in this area of the forums that got billions...so gold varies a good bit. But if you don't plant to collect rares or event items then you don't need that much gold. Luna bank is the place to go now....but Europa is probably pretty dead at times. Most of the really active players have transferred a few characters to Atlantic. Atlantic is damn near as busy as any shard ever was...so there is still things to do and people to see. Get that list of (Blessed) & [exceptional] stuff together and PM it to me...ill be looking forward to it....I will give u top dollar and help you get back on your feet. Welcome back pal...don't be afraid to keep asking questions if you need to know something.

Also, how do I go about transferring one or more characters from one shard to another if you dont mind me asking?

Those items are just old rares that cant be made anymore, nothing special about them other than that. You will need transfer tokens to xfer characters to other shards. If you havent played in 9 yrs you might as well just make new characters where you want them and build them up. Most skills can be power-leveled and you will certainly need new armor and weps. Xfer tokens arent particularly cheap

^^ What Restless said. I am just a collector of those items so I buy most of them that I run across. Transfer tokens sell in the Origin store for about $20 or sell in game for around 50m. If you make a character on ATL let people know through the General Chat channel that you have just come back and people will be happy to help. Or ask us and we can help. Building the top of the line suit can be very expensive...but you can build a pretty good suit without spending a whole hell of a lot. I will be happy to set you up with some decent pieces...as would lots of other vets. Its not hard to find some people willing to help on Atlantic.

If you spend some time and go back through the posts here on stratics, im sure you'll get a good idea of what to look for. Even things that look simple these days could be worth a lot! google with "...."'s, are also your friend. If you think its rare and want to sell it, put it up for auction here and you'll find out pretty quick if its rare or not.

What everyone else has said. But you may make more in the long run if you do an auction for said items, nothing like a good ole fashioned bidding war!

I'm on Europa and if you ever need an idea of how much something is worth give me a shout. Europa is busier these days compared to recent years I think.
