Two chars. Same name. Same shard. Same account.

Any way to stop them overwriting each others macros/settings folders?

I use the CC client and UOA.

A guildmate and myself have this same issue with same named chars and never have found a way to really prevent macros being screwed up.

Wouldn't be an issue if the chars were similar.. but one's a chiv archer and the other is a mage tamer. So hugely different set-ups

They need to be the same name for RP reasons. Oh well. I'll just make a copy of the folders on the desktop and a shortcut link and replace each as and when.

ya there is no way to fix this.
you CAN fix it with uoassist very easily and i can walk ya through that but your desktop through UO goes directly off of your name.

what i have done over the years to fix this is creative use of spaces in the name.
using capitals and lower case will not fix this, but spaces will.

let me know if anyone needs to know how to fix this with uoassist and ill walk ya through it.

with caveats for each person's file directory configuration, oh, and keep in mind the different OS structures (Windows 7 to Vista to 8 and now 10... ugh)

when you get the update dialogue for UO Assist, click settings (bottom right corner) and tick the "ID's (helps when multiple characters have same name)" in the bottom left section of settings.

Mind you this only works for assist, and macros made via client settings will still conflict.

uoassist is a easy one to fix, just click a button.
only bad thing is you have to redo every macro from every guy you have. (including dress and arm and organization macros)
but once youve reset them all you never had to worry about uoassist messing up between characters with the same name.

Pretty sure you can copy the files in the folder of your charname to the char id folder and not having to remake em. That is, if you manage to find out what id belongs to which char

the only way to figure out which one ID belongs to each character is to flip the switch then log into character 1, then go to the file folder and copy down the new ID that is now there.
then log in on character 2 - then go into the folder and minus off ID one and recorder ID 2.
rinse, repeat.
i gave up after 200.
but up to 200 i was all over it!

Add a space to the end of one of the names with a name change token. Name will look the same in game, but you will get two separate folders.
