What is up with item weight

Ok, did a little Tmaping the other night and today did few Mel's. Several of the items that drop have weight of 50 stones. They had nice stats too.. A Tunic has 15% fire eater, but with that weight makes me think it worthless.


Is this some new negative mod or just really bad rolls? Has anyone else seen items with 50 stone weight?

Been a year, Pub 86:

• The following negative item properties can now be found on magic items:
  • Brittle – Cannot have powder of fortification applied to the item
  • Prized – Item insurance cost is increased, cannot be blessed
  • Massive – Increased strength requirement, indicated in the strength requirement item property
  • Unwieldy – Increased item weight, indicated in the weight item property
  • Cursed – Cannot be insured or blessed
  • Antique – Increased durability loss, can be powdered 3 times. Each powder will reduce max durability to 250, 200, and 150 respectively. Can be repaired.

Those and the ones that take 125 STR to wear/equip are just amazing.

PvPers still use them, since they're not concerned about hauling around loot. 6 pieces of 50 Stone gear is 300 Stones, still plenty of weight for Trap Box/Enchanted Apples/Orange Petals/Pots.

I'm wondering if it's possible to Enhance with Dull Copper to get the Lower Requirements mod added to lower strength requirements on 125str items. Is it possible to do even with an 100% Skill Tool if it has 5 mods already? Anyone tried it?

No idea but I always think the stuff is only worth unraveling. Most my characters don't even have 125 str and if they do they don't have enough to wear it while cursed so not worth it IMO.

Enhancing with gold or dull copper DOESN'T lower the 125 str requirement of those items.

The 50 stone items are the biggest PITA for gathering bags of magic items for disimbuing. I gotta say out of all the new stuff this one is the biggest pain and head scratcher. It's such a pain sorting through a bag of items trying to find that 50 stone one that's weighing you down after killing and looting 10 monsters.

ive paid 20 - 50m for 50 stone items. and they werent even legendaries. you can use 1 in a setup no problem. and thats on a pvp or event character that relies on pots (potions take up most your carry weight). on a daily no-pot pvm guy id be fine with using 3 in a suit.
