Maybe I'm late to the party but it seems that the gold elementals no longer drop any kind of loot except ingots, gold. and gems. Has this been like this for a while?

Yes, people were afk farming them to get loot, so the loot was dramatically reduced pretty early on.

.... yet scripters can collect thousands of gold ingots and farm away for minax drops however they take away one of few places were you could get clean 1-2 mod items... what the hell kind of sense does that make?
