Vanishing X-Fer token bug?

I had a transfer token in my pack I was trying to sell. A guy added me to party, asked if I still had it for sale. It and a mythic token were the only items in my pack at this point so I said yes. He tried to talk the price down.

He gates me to his house to setup a vendor to sell it on but when I got through the gate the transfer token had vanished from my pack. Only the mythic remained.

Anyone got any idea what happened?

This token was brand new. I'd only bought it a few hours before? Annoyed is not the word.

This was on Atlantic. I was in Luna, he gated me to tram.

Transfer Tokens are Blessed, blessed items can't be stolen.

Dunno why he partied me. But they're blessed, and I was under tram rules at all times.

did you buy it off a vendor or from the actual store? i really have no idea why it disappeared, but could be something to do with "non-vendorable" items that were "fixed" but become "unfixed" when crossing a serving line. ive had this happen with arties, bought off vendor, crossed server line, tried to place on vendor and they were now "impermissable and cannot be vended" perhaps it has something to do with that, but if the token was actually duped it just deletes itself?

this is all purely conjecture but as you know in UO alot is possible.

might also want to try recreating with a friend, see if there is some kind of "party, gate from luna to tram bug" that lets items
like that be stolen. shot in the dark, one in a gazillion i know but still might want to check it out. personally i don't party anyone just to make a sale, if they want to go to extravagant lengths to make a purchase, my BS'ometer starts blaring in my ears.

Well this is most strange. Sadly it sounds like a write off though

Might be worth emailing "support" but wouldn't hold my breath in getting any help. Worth a shot though, its free to email!

i hate to say it but your only option is to page a gm, but im not sure one could even verify that the token "disappeared" . your only other option is to email mesanna and hope she gets back to you. unacceptable if this happened to a token that was directly redeemed from a recently bought code.

gotta ask...but did you check your bank to see if it was there?

otherwise, all sorts of ideas come to mind. do you remember the character's name so you can look the guy up on myuo to see if he has the stealing skill? if so, this might be a stealing exploit.

i'd be interested to see if this could be reproduced on test center.

I do not remember the chars name. Though he did swap chars as soon as we got to his house. I assumed because the money was on another character.

I do know where his house is. But that's not much use to finding the char name.

I do know where his house is. But that's not much use to finding the char name.

It is all UO needs because if they know who owns the house then they know all chars on every shard that goe with that account and any other account that person owns. It sounds like that first char was a different account and he had to log the house account on to give you a vendor, just a guess.

Stuff like this makes me sooo mad and sad. Mad because why do some people think being an asshat douchebag ripping people off is a "playstyle" or cool? Sad because this is the same crap that has been going on since 2002 when I started and people quit over this stuff. Sadder still all the Dev teams that have come and gone have done exactly NOTHING when it come to this type of player behavior. I often wonder what kind of people get their kicks inflicting misery to people they don't even know online. What kind of people are they in real life. They must be pretty, sad, and pathetic. Maybe they should quit the internet and get a dog. Dogs love you no matter how broke, weird, unattractive, fat, skinny, or whatever. Dogs just love.

But enough with the randomness...funny thing happened yesterday to a guildmate.

She had some Ancient SOS's and was going to do them...recalled and POOF...they disappeared!

I was in vent with her at the time and she was rather upset.

After trying everything you normally would, logging in and out, checking in the other client etc. She just gave up and was going to come spawn with us...lo and behold when she went home to get her weapons...she found the bag of Ancient SOS's! IN HER HOUSE....and not in the same place they were.

Like when she recalled they bounced out of her bag back to her house...that incident made me think of this one...and maybe there's a slightest chance that it's either in you house somewhere or back on the vendor you bought it from?

Never heard of anything like this happening but after my friends incident last night I had to go *HMMMM*

Did you try doing a search on your pack on the EC?
Sometimes it might be misplaced inside the backpack due to some stupid position bug that places it outside the limits of the backpack display area.
Checking the item count on your backpack on the EC and then clearing it to see if it still shows 1/125 is a good idea.
If it does and it doesn't show on the search, neither when you switch from grid mode to list mode, call on a GM and he will be able to fetch it for you.
