[Discussion] Question about brokering

Sorry for noob question but figured it best to ask first.
I have never used a broker for anything and am wondering if they normally charge something for their service or expect tips. Someone told me they are normally free?? Just don't want to get hosed!!

I personally don't ask for anything when I do it but would welcome any tips. Some do happen to charge a fee though.

Depends on the size of the sale and the broker. Usually a % of the sale is nice.

So I'm guessing the seller normally would be the one to tip or pay for the service? Sound fair I guess, but why can't they just give us a way to handle large transactions. It's been how many years now?!?

That's what they're doing with the new gold system coming in the expansion, supposedly. Just what I've been told. Gold will be account wide, per shard - I believe. Don't quote me, as I don't have the access to the 'alpha-beta' whatever they're calling the current testing being done. Just what I understood from what I've been told.

I dont ever charge for in game transactions. Since the game is to old and broken to make trading safe for all users in all situations its only right that a couple of us offer the service for free. There are quite a few people that regularly do trades for people for free.
However, Tips are always appreciated in any broker deal.

I try to charge 50% or more then I also add on a service charge. It's been pretty quiet lately...

I am always happy to broker for free, like Scribbles said, we do it to make sure the community is able to trade safely. It's always awful to hear about someone getting scammed, so we do our best to prevent that from happening.
