That's good for a laugh, but okay, what the hell....
"Dear Mushrooms,
In light of the plethora of problems affecting the vendor search we are taking it down for approximately (enter time here) to run maintenance on the service. We apologize for the inconvenience. We want to let everythone know this maintenance is something that must be done periodically to ensure the feature is running at optimal capacity. We thank you for your patience and support."
I don't need to know everything that's going on at all times. I don't need to know what's going on with Time Of Legends.
However, if they turn off a feature in the game isn't it common courtesy to inform the playerbase?
We have a feature in the game that's not working, wouldn't it be nice to know that the powers that be are aware of it and are working on it.
Apparently that's asking for way too much.
It's not terrible communication it's essentially no communication.
It's the lack of courtesy more than anything that gets me, a lack of courtesy that is shown time and time again.

I still check out other vendors at a house and nearby houses when I go to place through the vendor search. Few players mean fewer vendors and it is harder to find what you need. It's much better then Luna being the primary vendor source and of course other not so legal means of checking. I actually frequent more vendors and have finally updated my personal vendor runebooks since it came into play. I enjoy going to places that are not in Luna to buy things.
Well vilify WoW all you want. There is a reason their subscriptions are in the millions and ours are not.
If we had a store like WoW , UO would have more revenue coming in. For ANY business to continue to stay in business it must changed and adapt. Case in point Radio Shack vs. Apple. Apple has continue to change and adapt. They have embraced new technology and continued to meet their customers needs. Radio Shack declared bankruptcy earlier this and is now out of business. Why? Because Radio Shack was perpetually stuck in 1985. They fail to adapt. Imagine if Apple didn't adapt and was still sell Apple II Es? Before you

- I played Wow since vanilla along side of UO. I loved WOW up until the mess that WoD is. Did I villify Wow? No. You need some reading comprehension.
- Not even in the same business so no , I wont compare the two.
- You paint with a very broad stroke with "ANY" which is usually a sign of someone trying to over dramatize something or a lack of understanding of the topic. Ill go with a little of both from you. There are many VERY successful businesses that have not had to adapt; besides I didn't say not to adapt, I was suggesting not to change the core of what UO was, a social game.
