A big sale to get people to invest money in the game then announcing the games shutdown will not be a good PR move. Wouldn't encourage people to risk more money setting up in another EA game.
Hopefully someone just yanked all the UO stuff by accident when shutting down the sale.

...Actually, there was talk about Broadsword getting more control over the sales stuff if I remember correctly. Hopefully this is either a mistake that will soon be corrected, or part of the moving process and we'll be seeing an announcement soon. Don't panic!

Sale wasn't suppose to end until the 22nd.
I still have $27 in my EA wallet while I decide on whether to get more soulstones or toss it into a few more Raised Garden Bed sets, hopefully the game still has a future, I've spent a couple hundred in the store this year I'd hate to see wasted.
Shoot I'm hoping to keep on playing UO until I do the big log out.

Deep Breath People. Communication has never been the current administrations strong point, other than Kyronix. With a Big Publish coming up including multiple focus groups it isn't the end. Considering the Fiasco with the Japanese store they would of had good reason to remove the store items until things were fixed.

I notice you can still find DAoC one-, three-, and six-month game time codes on the Origin store. However, that's all you can find for DAoC. Does anyone know if you were ever able to buy anything else for DAoC from the Origin store?
While this is probably just a hiccup or internal snafu, its going to look incredibly bad to subscribers until either BS makes a statement (don't hold your breath...) or the items are silently returned to Origin.
On the other hand, this could mean the new UO/account management/item shop website that was supposed to go live last month is now "ready." However, turning one store off before the other is actually live is a poor business decision, as it tends to encourage Chicken Little-esque wild imaginings.
Remember, this is UO and we're all mushrooms...we should be used to it by now.

i was kinda upset when they killed Yahtzee... my siblings and I would play that for hours on end - remembering our childhood and such what not.
Looking at that list a bit more closely, though, I kind of wonder how accurate it is. It doesn't list the Warhammer Online closure that happened on December 18, 2013. The only Warhammer item on the list is that "play4free" Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes title that was out (in open beta) for a year or so. However, it does list Ultima Forever's closure last year.

See what we've done, sucked up all the codes, although I thought they were randomly generated. So our demand exceeded their expectations?
My mind still can't get around the concept that the 'stock' of computer generated codes for an entirely online store can 'run out'..... it seems about as sensible as a company saying 'sorry, you can't download our software now because we ran out of it on the shelf'.
Incidentally - the concept that they simultaneously 'ran out of codes' for every one of the items on the Origin store, at the same time... is just as crazy. Have they actually changed the format system for all their codes to stamp on the 'fake' ones out there, perhaps - or it that just too optimistic of me, and it's just the usual bumbling going on?

That certainly seems to be how it works, but if so, someone seems to be working to a 'digital copy' of the systems that stores had back when UO came out, and rather needs to catch up with the ideas of the last decade or so - internet, online sales and computer generated codes being made available 'on demand' rather than someone keeping a virtual "stock of them"... this technology stuff can do some impressive things nowadays

I'm sure it has something to do with not having too many keys out there that folk can mimic? I don't know the correct wording for it but you know... it's not good for the game or folk who buy stuff legitimately.
Though I agree the system is in DIRE need of updating and well I wish it was in other hands. As it is I almost hate to buy anything from there. But being limited to buying one at a time is just plain stupid. I have several accounts and if I wanted to give each account a new soulstone... well that would take a lot of unnecessary hoop jumping.
Yep, I mentioned earlier I hoped this was actually part of them changing their systems, and formats, for generating keys for things - I don't really believe it is, since they are usually hopeless about shutting down the 'external' sellers of game items, but I can hope they might finally be starting to get a grip.... too late for me though, bu it would be good for the remaining folks if they actually did clean up the issues the game has, on so many levels, and 'illegal' codes would be a start - but of course only a start.....
Sadly I think the number of Tokens out there unused but claimed is probably greater than anyone realizes.
I often wonder what it would be like if we could all see duped items clearly. If somehow duped items could be tagged in some way... almost scares me what each of us might find in our possession...

This is actually quite funny. They did manage to run out of codes in an online store ( which is quite a legendary achievment itself ) and nobody did notice it? So UO is financially so well off that nobody looks for that and no automated system is in place to do that.
I am crossing my fingers that they also take the time to add the missing items to international stores when they are "restocking" the codes at Origin.
