Building a t hunter on a new shard - 94.5 carto - discorded by satyr back to 68.1 - made 100 sea charts at 50 percent chance while discorded - not a single gain - seems too much for even bad RNG - was the discord trick nerfed?
They do. If you have positive Karma, get a level 15 phantom... Much more powerful discord.I wonder if a trained Sillenii (satyr in Despise) will lower your skills more than a "wild" satyr in Twisted Weald?!?
Awesome! Now I might finish a few skills a bit faster..They do. If you have positive Karma, get a level 15 phantom... Much more powerful discord.
I think the biggest misconception about using the discord trick is that it inherently changes the rate at which you gain... It does not. It only changes what you need to perform in order to gain. Sometimes that means you can perform actions faster or more often, like with magery... Lower mana expense and faster casting times, which produces more attempts... Which in turn produces faster gains... But your gains per attempt are still that of the higher skill, not the lower skill.Awesome! Now I might finish a few skills a bit faster..
I don't personally remember if there are any resource requirement differences between the maps you make... Seems like it's a pen and a blank scroll regardless of map type. The only advantage I can recall for the discord trick it to try and get that success rate chance in a more favorable range. So for example if making the top end map at 94 skill only gives you a 45% success rate and making the other map while discorded gives you a 55% chance, you are better off getting discorded. Your gain rate per successful attempt is still based on the 94 skill, but you will have more successful attempts at 55% than 45%... Which will translate to more gains. That's interesting - so discorded back to 65 you still get the slow gains of 95? Well, that's not all that helpful for carto then until you're at 99.5, is it?
If it's true that your gain rate is based on your true skill, it's best not to get discorded for carto before 99.5, since your success rate on world maps at 94 is around 90 percent and your success rate drops to 50 percent on sea charts when discorded back to 65 - especially since you can just stand in a map makers shop and make maps all day by selling them back and actually gain faster than if you had hauled maps to Twisted Weald and got discorded - what a disappointment, lolI don't personally remember if there are any resource requirement differences between the maps you make... Not sure that is functionally accurate. I would get a crystal ball of knowledge and try both places... I'm guessing at 94 making world maps you are in the "easy" or "too easy" range. A lower success chance should get you closer to "optimal".If it's true that your gain rate is based on your true skill, it's best not to get discorded for carto before 99.5, since your success rate on world maps at 94 is around 90 percent and your success rate drops to 50 percent on sea charts when discorded back to 65 - especially since you can just stand in a map makers shop and make maps all day by selling them back and actually gain faster than if you had hauled maps to Twisted Weald and got discorded - what a disappointment, lol
