Icq Problem

Just a heads up after having a week long issue with icq i have removed all programs from the computer....seems strange only i have had these issues so the best option is to do without...even though playing UO is probably near impossible ...

If anyone as any unfinished business then please PM me on here and we can try arrnage to meet

Try using the @ symbol and typing their name after and selecting them. It'll flag the user to the post as many people might not be checking these forums as regularly as they normally do, especially if they are in the focus group. You can also tag them.

Oh and editing your previous post and doing the @, doesn't seem to give an alert. Only new posts.

You have to make a new post. For some reason when you edit and add the @_____ it doesn't alert the user like it should.

Icq problems were very redundant to me at some point, some spammers can cause the app to crash sometimes... I had to deleted over 100users and i got it fixed, no problems since... Im not sure if this is ur case

Aye that's what I use I like it much better... it doesn't have all the fun sounds and soundpacks of ICQ but it seems far more stable.

Trillian or Pidgin are the way to go. The actual ICQ client has been trashware for years and years now and only seemed to be getting worse with each new version. Plus Trillian and Pidgin can work with pretty much every IM program there is.

From my experience Overwolf is bloatware. Laggy as hell and VERY annoying.

Um, It was originally developed by Israeli company Mirabilis in 1996(that when I started using it). Then it was bought by AO-Hell er sorry AOL. AOL sold it to the Russians.

HA HA HA HA HA NO! I used that briefly....gah took me a while to remove all the little bits. Too bloaty.

Also beware of GameBooster, it used to be a good program to tweak and wring a little extra out of an older computer. I decide to put it on my laptop HUGH mistake. One, its been bought the company Razer (same company that sell gaming peripherals not the No-No proggie ). Its chock o block full of spyware, adware and pups. I believe that is where I got a virus; with help from bleepingcomputers.com I got my computer back in order.

okies i have got trillian up and running...

iam coalminer if anyine needs to contact me...

just a question can icq numbers/ names be added to trillian contact list....i cant seem to find a search engine on the trillian display , like there was on icq search for contacts were u simply put a name or number and it connected you...

If you can get your old ICQ up and running on it's own just copy down the numbers of your friends ..... make a new icq on Trillian and add them.... and Yes if you can get ICQ running with Trillian with a new number then you can add them easily.

If you need more help I'll be on later perhaps PM me we can chat in my Vent or something I'll try to get you set up.

Sounds like someone probably hacked your old accounts and changed the emails on them. I had this happen to me years ago with my ancient ICQ #

Was a "thing" in Russia for a long time to hack ICQ's with low #'s and take them. I guess it was some sort of game or something to see how low of a number you could have or something... anyway... all speculation or whatever rumor but crazy sounding.
