We just finished the early bird sat midnight toss and here is the stats. 44 nets tossed,14 boss,s spawned. 3 hours run time to end. 1 known one tile soul forge drop called 2nd boss. 50 plus peeps attended some the entire time. this was done at new magincia docks. I personally threw the net with 0 fishing skill. and the results you see are posted. we did pull 2 boss's from 1st 3 nets. and from there the stats went down on ratio of boss to nets thrown. I am the governor of magincia on atlantic. but , I dont think mattered in the toss results. I did die one time also probably not a factor.This was the 15th straight week we have done the toss's. No one soul forge and i know of one bracer drop out of 14 bosses.. That's not saying some got drops that kept it secret.

Thanks for posting your numbers and fishing skill! I was just discussing Scalis with @DreadLord Lestat over on the fishing forum. 14 Scalis/44 nets=about 33%, roughly in line with the 25% rate listed on UOGuide but it appears fishing skill isn't neccesary. Anybody have similar numbers for throwing nets with GM or higher skill?

you guys did well. The percent is supposed to be 25% chance to pull Scalis. That would have been 10 of 40. I have seen 1 in 10 before too. I always thought that was a shoddy way to do the boss. The white nets take some time to get.

Oh I've always thought it was bogus... First off if you go to do a Peerless like Lady M, Dreadhorn or any of those even Medusa and such you "expect" to get a drop... Granted it might not be something fabulous like the Crimmy or the Talisman I can't think of the name of right now.... but you do expect to get a drop.... even doing Corgul you expect to get "something" to drop.

Fishing and Despise are two of the most time consuming and least rewarding things you can do in-game. Fishing even with using bait will net you squat for your hours and hours and hours of work... even the nets are a joke... you toss in net after net after net and finally get a scalis to spawn.... and the drop rate of ANYTHING of worth off the thing is so miniscule that honestly it's hard to get a group to put in the effort of killing it anymore.

The FIRST time I did Scalis I got the forge... I was excited and thought this boss rocks! The next 100 times I've killed Scalis not a thing has dropped for ANYONE. This is using a 120 fisherman. Hell you can't even get stuff to drop with the Leviathans much anymore not that you ever could anyway. This makes getting folk excited about doing these things next to impossible and then you top that off with how hard it is to actually get the charblis(sp) stuff to summon up that and kill it.... which is not easy...... and the fact that it's the lamest drop in game.... and yeah you get the picture on folk wanting to do that after the first time they go. ZERO.

I've always felt that someone on the DEV team HATES fishing... Someone said it was "easy". I wouldn't say it's easy. It's work... tons of time is put into fishing. Getting the nets takes time and effort. You get a white net/MIB about one in 100 MIB's... fishing up a message in a bottle takes time... gathering 100 nets to toss.... takes 100's of hours of gameplay... and to be rewarded from all that effort with a rate of spawn of 25%.... and then top that off with the drop rate off the boss of what 1%? Yeah you'll soon see how worth it that is.

For the work involved in getting the thing compare that to doing say Lady M or Medusa. I can gather keys to either one of those in about 15 min... that means I get a chance at getting a crimmy or that talisman once every 15 min. Now you see why Fishing sucks and is broken for drop rate vs return of time invested. I could do a 100 other things in game and have a 500X better drop rate and return on the time invested.

But even on Atlantic you don't get "50 plus peeps" together when you holler for a couple of Medusa runs. That seems to be a bit of the point of those group things. It's an awesome effort Ma Nerva is providing to our shard. Thanks a lot

Yeah its hard to judge with that many people.. Im sure more items dropped.. But nothing was announced. I have attended around 7 of these player events hosted by the OP. i got a bracer a couple times ago..

I was one of the folks who got the Small Soul Forge yesterday (in addition to a large number of Legendary Artifacts and Major Artifacts). I've been coming to these 'Scalis parties' at New Mag docs as often as I can. I really appreciate the community effort put out by Ma Nerva and I've been thinking about switching a char to New Mag to vote for him/her in the upcoming elections simply out of respect for doing these weekly public Scalis net tosses.

Please keep up the much appreciated effort.

Yeah man, High Seas was the pinnacle of needless grinding in this game.

My guild on LS threw out 22 nets a couple nights ago and pulled 3. I threw the nets with 0 skill as well. So that's roughly 1 out of 7. Of the 3 bosses that popped one dropped two arties (thundering wand and bracers) and the other two dropped nothing. Decent Legendaries though...

I throw about 10 white nets every two weeks for our community on GL. I haven't gotten a soul forge yet.. but we spawn 4 bosses a night. I'm known to throw two nets at a time and get two bosses simultaneously.. I do wear luck and hit my statue.. not sure if that has anything to do with it. Last night i threw maybe 4 nets, might have been 5 and got 2. because i started with 6 in pack and didn't refill. Usually we spawn 4 bosses, but i'm getting pretty lucky i take it?

120 fishing, bait suit with luck and luck statue.

the weekly early bird net toss just finished. after throwing 28 nets we got 4 scalis. I also would like to apologize to everyone over the griefer whom droppped 10 nets during or first scalis of the night. It took 18 nets to get 1st scalis of the night, and of the 10 nets thrown by the griefer they got 0 scalis to spawn.I can only hope sundays noon event has better odds. and hopefully the griefers will restrain form interupting this event in the future. Thank you all for the support , and yes I plan on running again for governor of new magincia any and all help I can get is apreciated in this endeavor. I'd also like to thank those whom donated nets to help with these weekly toss's. I enjoy hosting these toss'sand they are great fun for me to participate in. thank you all.

It took 18 nets to get 1st scalis of the night, and of the 10 nets thrown by the griefer they got 0 scalis to spawn.I can only hope sundays noon event has better odds.

18 Nets...Brutal. Plus the 10 from the Griefer. 28 Nets 1 Scalis.

I once tossed 31 White nets (115 Fishing) to get one Osiredon.
