Harpsichord Rolls and The RNG

For the last couple of months, I've been noticing a bid of oddness about harpsichord rolls that fall in a character's backpack as a result of killing certain kinds of monsters in Ter Mur. It seems to me that the dropping of these rolls in a character's backpack is behaving a lot like the dropping of the books for doing the trade quests, i.e., a character gets a different harpsichord each time instead of sometimes getting one that he/she received previously.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm seeing that I'm getting far fewer duplicates and the ones I do seem to collect are from picking them up off the ground when I find them in Ter Mur where there was apparently a fight between monsters and a roll remained behind when a corpse decayed or because a roll wasn't able to be "awarded" to a fighting monster when it killed another monster.

I'm not complaining about this by any means because it beats getting just the same roll(s) over and over and never getting certain other ones, unless it means that once a character has gone all the way through the list he/she won't ever get any more harpsichord rolls. However, it has just seemed a bit odd to me and I wondered if anyone else has noticed this.

I'd like to ask if anyone else is noticing the same thing happening with their treasure hunters and getting recipe scrolls. Are you getting duplicate recipes on the same treasure hunter or is each recipe usually one you haven't received before with that character?

I'm not sure about loot per se, but I think some of those "void" monsters in Ter Mur that kill other things to gain strength and further their metamorphosis into something stronger are randomly granted a harpsichord roll when they kill something else. When that happens, I think the harpsichord roll lands on the ground.

I thought you had to kill the monster yourself. :confused2:

Some positive karma creatures in Ter Mur will attack other negative karma creatures. For example, I have seen Treefellow Guardians attack and be attacked by leather wolves.

or people like me who hunt alot in that area just toss the scrolls on the ground because we dont want them

the fairys in abyss will attach the humanoids that spawn after them in temple mini champ.
you can lead green mummys over to the fairy boss also and have them fight each other.

interestingly enough here is a little nugget of old fun that has to do with that.
back in the days when they had that event where you could get the cursed doom artys off of killing these uber powerful things (i say things because i cant recall what it was we where killing) but i recall they would spawn in the towns.
anyways, back then we had the town of Haven and Haven had its own guards that where mounted on ozzies.
long story short, if you where creative you could get the critters to tick off the guards and they would fight and call in more guards and more guards and such and pretty soon youd have like 30 of the haven guards fighting the monster for ya.
then once it was dead you would lure the very first guard out of guard zone and.... well..... kill him.
and low and behold in his pack would be one of those cursed doom arty's.

so the guards definitely getting looting rights.

of course this is all hypothetical as killing guards back then was a bannable offense and using the guards to kill stuff was probably the same, so that would have been a double bannable offense.... wait a double negative is a positive, right? ok, so never mind it must have been ok to do.

Yes the rolls drop on the ground for creature on creature kills, except maybe for provo kills. as for rng maybe you got a bit lucky or did not kill enough. Testing the issue would require thorough logging of the drops for over 2k drops. Go to the Underworld, kills a lot of goblins or undead or slimes and log the drops.
