How many Chesapeake players (who read Stratics, obviously) are still active ? It seems to be extremely quiet these days, with not much happening outside of one major guild.

kinda aye, been scarce lately with all of Lady Laurel's health issues but once all is good, I will be back on more. Summer is around the corner which is a good thing for me as well.

I was playing after work the other day, Monday, I think and it was SHOCKINGLY full. I say shockingly full, because after work for me is noon or 1PM or so for the East Coast USA; and there seemed to be about a dozen people actively doing stuff.

Usually ICQ. There are a few Ventillo or Mumble servers around but those are more social.

I stopped using ICQ some years ago when they had some security problems. They get that taken care of?

I believe so, and never a problem on my end. I don't like their client though - it's a resource hog. Instead I use Pidgin (http://pidgin.im) which is an open source Trillian clone. It lets you use ICQ, plus any other random services (at least one Chessie player still uses AIM instead ), plus a whole library of plugins, and it's both far friendlier and far less memory/processor hoggish.

I used Trillian for years, to run AIM ... Up until returning to UO last December.

Going to need to hunt for my ICQ info if it's the UO system of choice and get WIN 7 & 8.1 software for Trillian. The XP version was proving a bit cranky on the newer OS setups. Wouldn't even run last time I did a reinstall.

Certainly has an easier to put up with licensing agreement than Trillian does.

I wanted something I can read more easily than the game text scrolling by, eyes are getting old, and has the plus I can scroll back and see what was said if I was busy trying to not wind up in somethings stomach when it got said.

Gave them away, of course, when I could no longer keep them. I would never have been able to eat them. They were so trusting and too beautiful.
