Why am I continually being told I need to log in and then promptly being logged out?

This is getting old Stratics Folks, can you fix this problem? I've cleaned out everything as someone else was told to do due to some dns change or whatever and the problem goes on. I can't post and I can't access conversations.

I've had intermitten issues last night and today. If I open a link in a new tab, I get logged out. A few times when I've used the back button on the browser, I get a message that I must wait 6 seconds or 2 seconds before that action can be completed. If I post a reply and hit the back button on the browser the response gets posted multiple times.

I seem to always getting logged out when typing a response to a post. I actually had to write down my password on a piece of paper so I could log in again. Something is way whacked out.

Was reading this thread, hit the link at the top to go back to UHall - and arrived at UHall, but logged out....

Not trying to post anything, or edit anything, simply moving off one page to another is frequently enough to log me out! Can't for the life of me see that anything on my PC is causing this, since if I close the browser and restart, and hit the favourites for Stratics - I am logged in, automatically, every time. Until I try actually moving around the forums, then it's just a matter of time before it kicks me out again.

Some changes were made to the server over the weekend.

Please clean out your cookies and allow the server to reset the cookies.
That should help.

It is good practice to clean out cookies and browser history once in a while.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, this is pitiful. Switch pages, have to re log in, log in, read some posts and and switch pages and get logged out. RE LOG IN AGAIN, and the post I just read shows to be "new" again. It wasn't broken, so why try to fix it? It seems to have just messed a bunch of things up.

Earlier today was by far the worst it has been for me. Literally every page change or attempt to post resulted in getting logged out. I would log in, enter a thread, log in again, attempt to post and have to log in again, refresh back the the Uhall screen and have to log in again... rise and repeat...

there's been a change in the security of our server which will look for specific types of activity. if found, the user(s) are logged and bounced off the server.
the settings are being tweaked and adjusted.

Firefox in this instance, but similar was happening yesterday with Chrome as well-

Less than two minutes - browsed a couple of threads on UHall and Europa forum, accidentally hit the link for the Europa EM forum, and got 'requested forum cannot be found - but was also logged out.

Restarted the browser, logged in automatically, looked at one thread - 'The Smuggler' - on UHall that at that time had only two posts in it, and returning to UHall again was logged out..... so maybe 30-40 seconds....


All the cookies on both browsers were cleared out yesterday night, I'm certain it's really not something at my end of the system doing this......


Edit : And a couple of minutes later - reading a thread on UHall, hit the 'back' button on the browser to get back to the main forum, and... logged out when I get there. No matter HOW I try navigate the forums, from the browser controls, or choosing a 'favourite' to move between forums, to using the menus on the forums themselves, trying to reply or post, or even following links in one thread to another thread, I have a stupidly high chance of being logged out. Not guaranteed to happen - just very, very frequently.

I was just checking another thread, when I opened it I was logged out (while viewing the thread). hit the "back-arrow" and was logged in. opened the thread again and was logged out.
hit back, was logged in, refreshed page while I was still logged in then was logged out upon refresh. closing all tabs, and reloading browser to stratics forums I'm logged in without needing to manually log in...

Really good changes Ron Bron, today I managed to check the conversation your posting to once and now every changed screen or conversation/alerts buttons checks logs me out as well. You want your system so secure your site users can't use your site? Fine.

If you switch to another security setup that isn't so overdone and your system becomes actually usable again let me know. I imagine you have my email from my stratics account info.

So.. unfortunately I'm not being logged out constantly like the rest of you, but I was just prompted if i was sure that i wanted to like a post. WHY DO YOU NEED MY VALIDATION?! lol I pushed like!! how annoying.. i loved that easy feature of just clicking like, bam, you and xxx others like this. cool. gotta be all complicated and confirm now

Not sure why it asked you for validation for a "like" action @Zynia - did it bring up a new window asking you for a captcha validation? was it just a popup sort of thing?

Well this gets sillier.... opened the browser, came to UHall where I usually am automatically logged in but not this time, so chose login and 'keep me logged in' - and instantly back to UHall NOT logged in at all! Took three tries to even log in once.....

It took me to another page that said "Are you sure you want to like this post?" and I clicked yes, and it took me back to the thread. I did not take a screenshot, I'm on the lookout though!
