Broadswords reponse to selling of items

I would like to make a statement supporting what Stratics has posted and hopefully clear up some confusion.

Broadsword does not condone the selling of any items, accounts, gold, codes, tokens etc for real life money. We will not support these items if they are invalid, duped, or not delivered due to the fact they were purchased from a 3rd party.

As it has always been, if you attempt to advertise or sale these items for REAL MONEY, not in game gold, your account will be actioned.

I know there is confusion as to if you can sell these items in game for in game gold, of course but understand if something goes wrong the first thing we will ask for is a receipt. Without that we will not stand behind the item.

I hope this clears things up for many of you, if you have any doubt or questions please feel free to email me.

Who do I contact and how when I buy a promo code from the EA Store and it is invalid? I tried to respond via the email sent with the code but have not gotten an answer in over two months. There are no phone numbers anywhere posted to call. It seems to be a secret on how to contact someone.

the recent confusion / announcement had nothing to do with real life money. i dont see how this post is relevant at this time. Stratics has always had a stance against rmt and there has been no recent announcement, confusion, or change to the stratics TOS regarding real life money sales that that i know of.

So essentially it is caveat emptor when it comes to purchasing any type of token, even those in game.

• Third party programs
  For Ultima Online, "third party programs" is defined as any program having an affect on the UO datastream or software, and not listed as approved

• Power leveling services
• Unapproved modifications to game clients

So, as pretty much every player pointed out, the above line in red is a dramatic overreaction to rules that haven't changed. Since RMT is already covered 5 bullet points above it, and Mesanna didn't say that selling for in-game gold is forbidden, the red line should be stricken.

While it may not be forbidden, it is definitely something people should re-consider. Buying for in-game gold may seem good, but Broadsword won't be able to help if the token is broken.

While it may not be forbidden, it is definitely something people should re-consider. Buying for in-game gold may seem good, but Broadsword won't be able to help if the token is broken.

Require confirmation: Is Broadsword actually so inept that the functionality of in-game tokens can no longer be assured? Is it now actually possible to buy a token off a vendor for gold, find out it doesn't work for some reason, and simply be out of luck? This is a serious failure of the game's infrastructure if true, and such a collapse would not say good things about the game's future.

It was my impression that she was saying to assist with a token, a receipt would need to be provided. They are certainly covering themselves against fraudulent (duped) items.

I mean the idea that the token system has been fatally compromised by duping and the devs can't fix it and have no response except "if you didn't buy it from us for cash get lost" isn't exactly a comforting one.

as far as I understand, IT IS NOT ILLEGAL to Sell Tokens, Codes or Whatever if selling or trading for GOLD!!!

I am pretty sure Broadsword is saying if you don't buy it from them personally, and the item doesn't work. Don't come to them crying because they aren't going to help you.... It's pretty simple. This thread wasn't talking about what broadsword is doing about duped items, fixing dupes, or really anything else.

Like we all said in the beginning!!
All the Items posted here on Stratics, such as Tokens, Rares, 30 days GTC, Accounts, Houses, ALWAYS has been for Gold!.

UO Team and Stratics was never involved if someone scam, if someone doesn't pay for a rare at the festival, and the list can go on....

Thats why a lot of members of this community rely on Reputation, People here already know the names, if they want a GTC they all know who they need to look for, if they need a broker, we all know that @Nails Warstein , @Scribbles, @Decadence , myself and many more are there to help.

So I think after this post from the UO Team, saying that is Not Illegal to sell for Gold on Stratics, I think we will soon see another change on the Stratics Rules!!

and OFC if something goes "wrong" UO Team and Stratics was never involved anyway!!!!, by the end is all about reputation!!

@ Mesanna, if that is indeed the case, is there any way to crack down on ALL the "bookdroppers" advertising that very thing INGAME? I would think that would be a huge help.

EA Puppet???? I thought that they were her bosses, albeit she has another level now between her and them but still they are the ones she ultimately has to answer to and depend on to sign her paycheck.

There was questions about what was supported by stratics as far as selling specific items aka gtc, tokens, accounts for gold. So Mesanna was just stating what Broadsword had to say on the issue at hand.

Pretty sure EA doesn't own UO anymore. BROADSWORD does.

As Long as the Items, Tokens, GTC, Accounts or whatever is offered for Gold!! It can be done!, Like I mention before, Always use a broker if you are not "sure" of the Sellers "Reputation".
