This is not a "proper" auction--it's all in good fun and you can expect things to be weird and messy. Just enjoy it! After the last Vesper Auction, one particularly colorfully dressed auctiongoer approached me to ask that I pass on the following information about an unusual auction to take place nearby in the burgeoning gypsy town of Pike. She even showed me the gypsy wagon parked in Pike just for the occasion. The following announcement is from Stevie the gypsy:

Come one, come all, to the first ever Gypsy Barter Auction!
At this auction, sellers will submit and describe their own items. Attendees will offer up whatever they are willing to trade for the seller's item, and the seller will choose his or her favorite bid for a trade.
Space is limited to 15 sellers, 1 item/lot per seller. Please reply to this message to reserve a spot, or contact Stevie the gypsy in game or via ICQ at 1234 98 286.
Our inaugural auction will be held, appropriately enough, in the growing gypsy town of Pike, located near Dungeon Covetous centrally located between Vesper, Minoc, and Cove!
The quickest way to reach it is to use a corrupted crystal portal to go to Dungeon Covetous, then run northwest along the mountain a short distance. There will also be a rune in the Vesper Auction House.
Friday, May 1st at 8M ET!
All trades are final. The Gypsy Barter Auction and the City of Pike make no guarantees regarding the veracity or quality of any items bought or sold at the Gypsy Barter Auction.
