If I was Origin I would sell gold...especially after the checks are removed. Directly deposited into global bank accounts (This in itself could severely disable 3rd party companies)
Pets no longer available in game ( dread mare etc)

Presently 3rd party companies go through billions and billions in gold sales every week! Money that could be going back into the UO coffers!

Sell gold....Mesanna if you sell it, they will come. Strike the account aging thing, my sister just explained what a Holy-Pain-In-The-ASCII-code it is to do something like that on the code side and how many zillion things it could break.

Gold for sure... also like the account age thing though I think that should be about 79.99 per year. Since it cost us vets at least 119.98 or so a year.

I'd like to see things like ponds... in deed form you can put in you home... and fish from once a day gives 10 random fish with the small chance of giving a "special" fish.

I'd like a portrait maker that makes a portrait of your character. 10 charges. 4.99

I would like to have a design able banner... something you can create yourself that maybe has like 20 or 30 different symbols and patterns and it would be dyeable with any cloth dyes or ToT dyes etc... things like various virtues animals anti-virtues and such as well as a title menu so you can NE the banner something. 9.99

I don't know most the ones I know of sell gold at almost double what others do. I think UO/Broadsword could do it better and if they do it like some days they might have times when it's on Sale.

I know Arcane Legends is always having Platinum sales.

None of those are bad ideas, but surely the first step before we add more to it is to make the damn store the same for ALL players, and not have various things missing because you happen to be using an IP that the automated systems decide is in some country that is 'not allowed' to sell some items, for reasons they never get around to explaining.....

Global game, global store. Not a hard concept but one that seems to have gone right over the heads of EA and Broadsword..... but this internet thing still seems a bit hard for them to really grasp.

I completely disagree on selling gold.

One of the biggest hurdles UO has for bringing in new players is how much good items cost. Everything just keeps going up. There is already a constant influx of gold. More gold sinks are needed. I would go the other way and allow for Uo Store items to be bought with in game gold.

Put item on vendor, gold seller buys item for X gold after you put it on vendor. Gold safely sold and transferred.

My thoughts exactly. Still, one could argue that most people would prefer to buy gold from EA than from third parties due to safety.... although with the mess that the uo store currently is perhaps it would be safer to buy from third parties

There really are 100's of things they could put in the stores.

Things people want.

Packages of items that folk could use.... Gold, Carpet bundles, the bookcases, how about a heritage token bundle of 10, or 5 soulstones. They could sell a starter bundle with 10 million gold, 2k in iron ingots, 2k in wood, 2k in leather, and some spiffy forge or something all with a house placement tool.

But I agree that there needs to be many things "fixed" before they move to selling this stuff on an in-game store. Security issues need addressing, as well as the issue that folk in some countries don't seem to be able to purchase everything others can. There are a lot of security concerns. But right now account management is horrible and it certainly can use some improving. Though I always worry about someone being able to get your account. I for one would be pretty much done playing UO if I lost one of my accounts to someone who managed to take it away though the account management system.

My thoughts are if UO Generated more of an income then it could perhaps justify a larger team. Now... I'm not an expert in game management or anything like that and I don't know what sort of capacity EA is allowing Broadsword to work under. But I can say that if they could bring the store in-game... and could then generate more income... it would seem to me that they might then be able to hire more folk to do the things that need doing.

Just need to have 2 separate account ages Normal, and Reward! Obviously make the normal better. The amount of quick revenue that would draw would probably bring in enough to maybe hire a new Temp Dev and push out some new content!

I'd rather see a code you can apply to make the displayed account age your actual account age ( pay a fee for the time an account was inactive ). Being able to age a new account would make the vet reward system pointless.

Or:

Retool the vet reward system. Apply the artifact rarity system to the current veteran rewards, charge a fee per rarity level, say $1. An artifact Rarity 1 item would be $1 a level 10 $10 etc. Make all but the shard shields available for purchase at the store. Add a veteran reward discount to the store. Give players an option of either their normal 2 reward picks each year or increase their vet reward discount by a small amount.

They could actually create and sell some new house design blueprints, especially castle designs. Make it possible to acquire the blueprints in game via collecting/questing but make it super slow.

IMO They should stick to selling items in that store that cannot be gotten through normal play, they should also not be things that offer an unfair advantage such as PvP items, if they start selling things that would otherwise have to be earned through playing, such as gold, then its simply "pay to win", its bad enough they sell "mythic character tokens".

As with many things in life, the perceived value of an item is contained in the time and work it took to get, the easier a thing is to get, the more worthless it becomes.
