Hi,

I asked few guys in the game and got different replies. Some even said making armors is not worth it anymore so I should just get luck and loot...

How do you create a epic/uber armor?

I was gone for a while but i think back in the days we did following.
- Create an exceptional item.
- POF it
- Imbue it
- Then make it better using forged metal tool...

I dont think this is valid anymore. As I tried to use forged metal tool on imbued item and it did not work.

<Edit>
Also, someone told me different armors had different properties now.
Like woodland gave you LMR and studded gave you HCI. Etc. Is this true?
</Edit>
Thanks.

best way to create an uber set is to either loot uber bosses that drop Legendary arties.... or be very nice to a guildie that can make them for you :)

Either get a nice legendary item by farming or buying from another player or reforge one with a barb kit. What kinda mods do you want?

reforge is still the best to get the armor to pof, imbue and enhance

Thanks for the meaningful input.

I need something that has good resist, HCI, DCI, and hopefully some mana/health etc...
So I dont need to imbue or hammer things any more get good items?

I never heard about reforging. I will go check it out...
Thanks.

Well with imbuing your stuck with a 5 mod limit on what you can add to a piece and a total off 500 intensity. You can then enhance after to increase resists. With imbuing you have pretty much total control and can pick the exact mods you want on the item.

Reforging allows you to make items over the 500 intensity cap and thus making more powerful items. You can also enhance these. There is a bit more to it so have a search about for more detailed info or just ask here.

Loot items (mainly legendaries) can only be found on monsters and as loot. Exodus is the best from my experience. The problem with the loot is you have 0 control on the mods you will get. It's luck of the draw. If you do however hit the jackpot you can find some amazing armour out there now.

These items can have crazy amounts of mods, massively high resists etc. Get one or two nice pieces and then build a suit around them.

Have a look in the traders forum and you will see some great examples of the new loot.

Yes some armours have different charastics now. Studded for example gives you a 3℅ lmc bonus and metal gives more stamina protection. With woodland you can enhance with special woods to get other various mods.

Publish 81 gave certain armor types inherent bonuses. They called it the "Armor Revamp".

Certain armors will let you exceed the 40% LMC hard cap for a new hard cap of 55% but only on non-medable armor (not mage armor).
While most players tend to go this direction on dexers, the reduced stamina lose on other armors seems less used.
For PvP the higher LMC is beneficial but for PvM I find the lower stam lose to be greatly underrated.

My dexer PvM suits include both types of armor because while a higher LMC cap is great, it does you little good when your swing speed
drops due to taking damage and losing stam. You can always replace mana quickly w/ leeching as long as your swinging fast.

Good advice from everyone else posting. I just wanted to touch on this as no one had yet.

Hi,

Thanks for all the help so far. I have been playing around with forging (did not click "forge" yet).
But how do I get "Towering / of Aegis" on an armor?

No matter what I click, i can not choose it as 1st or 2nd name. Can I still get it as random if I dont click any names?
Thanks a lot for your help.

There are different types of reforging. You'll just have to find the right combination (which I personally do not know, as I don't do any crafting.)

Depends. For armor (ignoring uber loot), Reforging >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Imbuing, no contest. For weapons, you can reforge them to be 100% Elemental, or use it to put specific mods on them. If you make 100% elemental weapons, you can imbue the properties you want afterwards, which is what I've had done for my PvM thrower: Reforge 100% weap, have SSI, Hit Stam Leech, Hit Mana Leech, and a Slayer imbued.

I agree and for some time i prefer using lower LMC but platemail armor parts instead. In this way i do not have to keep 180 stamina (30 extra to swing 1.25 at 150) but i can get it much lower and put those extra points somewhere else (mana, mana regen)

And about suits i think it's all about new Legendary items. It's not that hard to build suits around those, it just takes some time or luck. Use vendor search and u can almost buy everything on ATL. Then the only problem is price. But even price can always be misjudged and u can get amazing pieces very cheap.

As a new player i must say my life become easy and very fun, i love getting Legendaries and build suits around those. Before as a player without a crafter it was not possible and i didnt enjoy it that much.

I have been lost with the new armor/weapon stuff since they took away the names/properties that they had before the Age of Shadows expansion.

Its not that complicated once you get your head around it. I only returned in 2011/2012 and after reading up on UOGuide I managed to get the hang of everything.

Work closely with a crafter and collect loot that seems to have stuff you want. Combine the two together.

If you are a crafter seeking to understand the system better then you are doing the right thing: Gathering information. Next stage is to play with things, experiment, and see what works for you.

On Great Lakes, at least, there's a pretty decent sized market in crafters who understand how these things work selling standard pieces to those who just want something they can use to run around and do stuff in game.
