[Auction] Hidden Valley Auction #12D: Containers, Bulk Lots, Deeds and Tokens, and Halloween Costumes

Welcome to the 12th Hidden Valley auction!

With Alex's auction on hold, folks doing IDOCs a-plenty, and cold weather keeping folks inside and cleaning up their houses, a crazy amount of items have been coming in to the auction house. Enough items, in fact, that my entire house is currently just storing the items for this auction.

Because there are a crazy number of lots, and to stay within Stratics' rules about where different types of items can be listed, I have split this into six mini-auctions. (And still I've had to push some items into next auction )

Auction 12A: Assorted Rares, 255-stone items, and statues
Auction 12B: Rubbles and Exceptional Quality items
Auction 12C: Whispering Roses, AOS Roses, Snow Globes, and EM Sashes
Auction 12D: Containers, Bulk Lots, Deeds and Tokens, and Halloween Costumes
Auction 12E: Spawning Rares, Obsidian Statues, armor suit set pieces, and more bulk lots, deeds & tokens
Auction 12F: Double slayer weapons, Legendary Artifacts, and other gear

On the plus side, nearly every lot is "no reserve"... Go wild!
Just in case I've missed setting the reserve for any lots, if there is no reserve listed, then a lot is no reserve.

All items will be delivered on Atlantic.

There will be no private bids. All bids must be made in this thread. Proxies are permitted; if you need a proxy, please ICQ me. Important: I will confirm all proxy requests with you. If you ICQ or PM me to ask for a proxy, and I do not reply confirming it, assume that I did not receive it - please send the request again!

For the majority of the items in this auction, I am not the owner, but merely the auctioneer. I reserve the right to bid on any items not my own.

The normal 10 minute rule will apply. The auction for that individual item will continue until ten minutes elapses with no further bids. The timestamp on the forum posts will be the deciding timer.

Auction end times:

• 12A will end on Saturday March 28th, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 12B will end on Monday March 30th, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 12C will end on Tuesday March 31st, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 12D will end on Wednesday April 1st, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 12E will end on Thursday April 2nd, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 12F will end on Friday April 3rd, 2015 at 7 pm EDT
• 13 will be posted on the 28th, and will end on Saturday April 4th, 2015 at 7 pm EDT

Please note that North America is now in daylight savings time; please make sure to double check what time 7 pm EDT is for you!

Minimum bids/increments:

• Minimum bid: 100k
• High bid is 2m or lower: minimum 100k increments
• High bid is between 2m and 5m: minimum 500k increments
• High bid is between 5m and 100m: minimum 1m increments
• High bid is between 100m and 250m: minimum 5m increments
• High bid is over 250m: minimum 10m increments

No bid retractions will be allowed. Bids must not be edited after they are posted. Anyone caught modifying or retracting bids will face possible consequences including bans from future auctions. I reserve the right to make errors interpreting minimum bid increments or any other part of these rules. Resolving those errors is left to my discretion.

Payment will be accepted only on Atlantic. If you can only pay on another shard, please contact me prior to the end of the auction. Please also note that all reserves are firm.

they drop from the abyss. i have gotten them myself while farming the black essence to imbue dci.

i got one before when i farmed the abyss alot. that was like 3 years ago tho. it could just be very rare to spawn. its definitely not the most fun way we could get them. i killed hundreds of renowned when i was farming the abyss and only got a handful of arty drops from them.

well, ive gotten 3 of them as loot. and it says "As of Publish 66, Acid Elemental [Renowned] also drops random costumes." They of course still have value, just not as rares.

Well, afaik, no one else has actually reported it happening since 2010. That line on that page looks like it was based on a single report, also back in 2010, and it hasn't been revisted since. Noone has reported it here on stratics, as far as I can find, nor is it in the pub 66 notes: http://www.uoguide.com/Publish_66 .

Those 3 you got, was that recently, or back in 2010, and which costume(s)? These were never intended to be drops, as far as the devs have said. (That, plus demand, being why they added the toad and zombie as cleanup rewards...) @Assia Penryn , have you heard of this?

In any case, as you say, the costumes market definitely has never been priced as if it were an ongoing drop. Too little evidence here to say that they actually have been borked by the devs, imho. Plus, your getting 3 of them as loot, at some point in the past 5 years, isn't enough info to say that every costume is spawning, or that any of them are still spawning.

well, how many people do you know who have actually farmed renowned lately? especially that one because its somewhat difficult. id say i killed about 400 of them back when i was farming essence. they appear to be around a 1 percent drop rate.

Well, lacking better info or other reports, I'd guess it was one of the bugs in the drops that was happening back then. If a handful accidentally dropped back in 2010, I'm going to guess that's since been fixed, else we'd have more reports of it. Either way, it doesn't really make the costumes and more or less rare - as you say, it's not one many farmed, even then.

Well, according to the thread in UHall, the devs have stated that nothing in the abyss has costumes on its drop list. Terathan warrior is the only one anyone has mentioned receiving, ever, and even then, they're talking 1 in 400 type chances, and not for several years now.
