I logged out in my house earlier today. Just now when I logged in I appeared in the Yomotsu mines 142.44N x 93.01W. Does this happen often? Good thing I was in blackness with the exception of a stone triangular graphic in the lower portion of the screen.

#1 change your password as soon as you possibly can, you may have been hacked.
#2 there may have been a revert on your shard that put you back in the Yomotsu area if you had been there earlier in the day.

I never thought of being hacked. I did just now change my password. No I have never been in the mines with either this character or many, many years ago on another shard. I think I better check other shards to see if I am intact. Thanks for this info. you may have averted me having a real disaster.
Was any of your stuff taken or anything like that? Seems strange someone would hack an account then go and hang out at the mines!
I have checked all the characters on all shards and everything seems to be there. I agree it is strange is there any other way this could happen? GL didn't have a revert today.
Duncan I assume you are from Catskills from your posts, there was a revert yesterday, of several hours, so everything you did in that lapse got reverted.
When I returned I began playing Great Lakes and have been there daily. Today I was on my fisherman for several hours then logged in my house this morning. This is just a bit unnerving finding my self in the mines and now trying to figure out why I was there.
Is it at all possible that there is a glitch in UO that would do this?

People do on occasion get telestormed again... Now I have no idea how or why that happens but I have heard of it happening in recent times. Just like before folk are sent wildly to random locations on random servers... but I think that's rather odd to end up in a place you can't teleport in. I mean you can't even LEAVE the mine without running out so indeed it seems odd that you could be teleported IN.
Which by the way I'd like to point out to the DEV's that ages ago it was a good thing when Tokuno was "new" to make those dungeons that way... but anymore it would be better if you could keep the Mobs from running too far from their spawn points and let us recall OUT at least again please.
I'm also wondering in you overlapped the map of trammel or Felucca where ever it is your house is with a map of Tokuno would the spot you wound up in be at the same co-ordinates as your house? Perhaps the game forgot what server you were on and put you on the wrong one. Though you were in the dungeon which well.... it's just odd.
My final question is ... were you doing something "naughty" as in were you unattended macroing in your home while you were "afk"? I then would assume some GM got "funny" with you in punishment and dropped you in a dungeon. Or perhaps .... and I'd hate to think this were the case... but perhaps an "advisor" moved you?
I wasn't doing anything unattended. I was trying to finish up a fishing quest travelling along the area just above Minoc and to the West. I had stopped the boat and recalled to my house in Malas. I checked the longitude and latitude of both locations. The first number is 20 degrees from the mines number. The 2nd number is in the opposite direction completely. The part of the mine I saw was totally black except for a large triangular stone graphic on my screen. I was unable to move in any direction but I was able to do a sacred journey out. I haven't been to the mines on GL since I started there. The whole situation is confusing. At first it was unnerving but now I look at it as being pretty funny. Of all the rich folks that this could have happened to it happened to literally poor old me. If someone was hacking my account they really made a poor choice.

If you were able to Sacred Journey out then you were not in the mines since you can't recall or SJ out of there. When you recalled home, was the boat still moving? Sometimes (at least in EC) if you recall/SJ off a moving boat you have a glitch where it looks like you're standing in water and you can't move, even tho you are actually at your recall point.
The boat was stopped and parked in a bay. I say the mines because that is the location given in the radar.
I do it all the time. It's the new thing to do now days. Not to steal stuff like lamers do but to just to use your char to verbal abuse npc mobs in caves and dungeons. All your accounts belong to me!
I just hang and talk some smack with whatever monster I come along. I enjoy hanging in dark mines and whisper crazy stuff into the darkness to the npc mobs that even freaks them out.
You got to hear some of things I say to the Shadow Wyrms at their hangout. It make you hair stand up on the back of your neck.
Now don't get me started on Liches.....
Had to have some kind of fun to lighten the mood up on Stratics
