Idoc New Times Issue

I agree it's crazy stuff. People do seem to just sit at them for hours. When they are not sitting at IDOCS they are running around looking for them. Maybe they're not normal?

I agree about the random timer from 1 minute to 1 hour. That would make them a lot more exciting and far less boring.

I am not in favor of the 1-60 minute drop. Then we'd all be camping them at "Greatly." I think it if was more like 2-5 hours dropping after going IDOC that would still make us sit at a house for several hours but not something that is just way out of control.

i sit at houses when im not hunting..m sometimes for 12 hours straight.. not to say i am really drooling staring ... im watching tv... sitting at work.. whatever.. im there for some im not for others... but i really don't agree with trying to make them more fun or quicker

your talking about a player leaving..

your talking about free loot.. which has been pre sorted...

your talking about someone's collection...

BUT hell im all about time... id like a timer set at 1-30 day drop.. (did he just say that he must be a scriptor)

stuff don't come ez... yeah its a game ... its not fun sitting for hours... well then don't.

scripters will always be... but with the new pvt addition and lack of trial accounts.. they don't really get an edge.

yeah they may have something set to loot ... sure.. but if u make it even more random and grubber rich i would see them just going back to script mining or blackthorns.. or whatever.

im probably wrong... but i only idoc anymore on my off time.. i used to do it full time spending 40+ hours a week at it... searching.. sitting...

but beating a dead horse about ut being wrong is not doing anything.. they know from the first post times are off and im sure they arg looking into it.

nothing in uo is random... there are always patterns.

deal with it and wait for a fix. posting the same crap daily about it being broke does not speed anything up.

*rant over*

*flame on*

cya in game. ;)

You're completely correct about what people would change to when a barrier is pushed up. There's a joke I've previously mentioned about the NFL hiring a bright, young economist to explore ways to make games more exciting. He determined that games would become more exciting if teams "went for it" and didn't punt so often. Now since punts always happened on fourth downs, he proposed eliminating fourth downs.

I would love to see a 1 hour timer. My UO life would be so much more fun lol. As far as stopping the scripters? Good Luck. If the coding UO wrote for the Grubbers tells us anything its this. Scripters are better coders than UO itself.

However, the most important thing for me is plain and simple this. UO needs to release something that works the first time. I dont care how it works, it just needs to work. Most of us are getting really tired of these "awesome" releases/patches that dont work like they were intended to. Please please please never release anything ever again unless you are 100 percent sure it is going to work like you say it does.

and again i find myself asking ....why did they try and fail miserably to '' fix something'' that was certainly not broken and had worked perfectly for 10 years or more

It is my belief that the first 'fix' to idocs was unintentional. If my memory serves me correctly, at the time the emergency 'fix' was made to stop the duping of Shard Shields which involved changing the timer for them, at that time, as a player doing idocs, I noticed the timing for those changed too. If you recall there was no announcement made that idoc timing was being changed (if intentional surely there should have been) there has certainly been announcements both times they have been changed since. If this premise is correct, bearing in mind how often they get it wrong anyway, they would hardly be likely to admit to it, and so we have lived with the consequences of the 'must be done now' fix ever since. I could, of course, be wrong but to me the facts speak for themselves.
