Necromancy: I want to be able to make undead minions created with the Animate Dead spell stop losing life over time. I'd also like a targeted Spirit Speak ability to heal them with.

What do you want?

I'd like to see multiple casting skills work together to effect existing spells and grant new ones. Say you have GM+ Magery and Spellweaving, you can pursue a mastery path that gives you access to a new spell or two as well as modifying existing spells; perhaps letting you polymorph into a pixie for a faster casting bonus or something. Necro+Spellweaving mastery lets you Dryad Allure undead creatures. I suppose this could be extended to other skill types as well, perhaps 300+ combined skill in Taming, Lore and Herding lets you pursue a mastery that allows a sixth control slot.
It would be neat to have new titles to go along with the masteries as well, "Sorcerer," "Shaman," etc for the casting masteries, "Beastmaster/mistress" for Taming masteries!

I'd be happy if GM+ hiding and stealth just trumped 0 (human) tracking...

I would like to see weapon masteries.
Basically, you are so good with a type of weapon, gaining maybe ssi, hci, chance for critical hits, but you suffer when using a different type of weapon (a to hit penalty that can't be negated, ssi penalty, etc).
So, if I decide to be a a halberd master, I would be really good with it, but anytime I use a weapon different than a halberd, my warrior would be less effective than your vanilla warrior.

I like many of these ideas...

I'd like to see crafting specialties where if you are loyal to Minoc you can mine better and more loyal to Yew you are better at woodworking etc...

I'd like to see maybe some sort of point system for hunting. .. where if you hunt more demons you get better at killing them...

Also would like to see some sort of mark and recall added to spell weaving necro and mysticism.

720 skill cap
800 mastery cap
No more than 200 Mastery Points per skill can be used. And it exponentially increases in difficulty per level. So I can start with magery.

Each damaging spell per spell circle can reach Mastery level 3 that's 3.0 or 30 points.
(Overcaps Spell Damage by 1% for that spell per 1.0 of Mastery)

Each Buff spell can reach a Mastery Level of 5 that's 5.0 or 50 points.
(Each buff spell increases in intensity by 5% per 1.0 mastery)

Example: If mini heal heals for 10 points of health at 0% mastery with 5.0 Mastery at healing it will now heal for 25% more so it will now heal for 12.5-13 points of health depending on a RNG roll.

Mastery Scrolls in rarity
Magery
Circle 1-3(common)
Circle 4-6(Rare)
Circle 7-8(very rare)

You can gain mastery by obtaining "Mastery Scrolls" by completing quests, or tasks at a 1% chance in Trammel Overland 5% chance Trammel Dungeons, 3% chance Felucca Overland 8%chance Felucca Dungeons. +2% chance in any Treasure chests. Someone better with numbers could give 1:1000 examples..I'm too lazy.

Ways to gain Mastery

Once you've obtained the desired Mastery Scroll you can gain it by using those level spells while engaged it whatever activity the quest, or task you are given. So starting out easy for the first level of mastery distinguished by difficulty. Say you are gaining Damaging Spell Mastery for Circle One spells. Your go to the Warlock Trainer NPC who will then ask you what Mastery you wish to achieve. You click Circle One Mastery and he will randomly give you enemies to train on (Imps, Mongbats, Headless) and you will have to go out and fight whichever Mob he assigns until you've reached the Max 1.0 mastery to where he will then grant you with the passive 1% Spell Damage Mastery after completion.

Probably too daunting of a task to code..but would be awesome!

I've said it a few times in the past, but they have the audio files in the game needed for bards to actually produce their own music. I think that would be pretty cool, masteries or not. Just have to make a filter for it so we can mute it lol.

Otherwise, still waiting for that Bad Circle ;).

Maybe a couple of taming mastery things combo'd with animal lore or whatever else..

1) Animal/creature no longer gets angered when you attempt to tame it.
2) You actually 'Posses' target pet or maybe creature, get access to your dragon's fire breathing or spells or whatevs.. Walk around as a cu sidhe and heal your friends. Probably not the most useful thing in the world, but probably fun to play with.

Perhaps have some guild mastery things.
1) General Crafting Mastery Guild: Craft skills get a small (not as good as talismans) % boost to successfully craft an item.
2) Armor Mastery Guild: Armor gets 3 extra points spread out in its resist 'spread' when it gets made. Crafters may make crafter specific guilds and make unions then hehe.
3) Miser Guild Mastery: Maybe 5% bonus gold per mob killed by guild member.

Maybe to help the guild mastery idea out.. In the New Land Mass (if it's official) have a guild/alliance hall area, that teleports your alliance/guild to an instanced official "Guild Hall", and you do quests/donate resources/gold for a Guild Chronicler in there, to increase the %'s of the guild bonus. Once specified a Guild can change masteries but, it takes a week like dropping citizenship to join another city takes a week. Probably a barbaric way to describe what I'm talking about, but just some food for thought.

Chivalry should allow you to summon a warhorse ethy-style if you fulfill whatever the requirements are.
Actually Chivalry I think should allow you to have a Silver Steed. As Necro gives you the undead horse Chivalry should give a Silver Steed.

I wouldnt mind seeing a crafting mastery. Perhaps something that gives us more control over what property and intensity of said property appear during reforging. The higher your mastery the better your chances.

Crafting mastery should let you change the appearance of an item to look like a different item of the same slot. For example: a high enough crafter with the appropriate skills should be able to alter mace and shield glasses to look like a tricorne hat, or a circlet, or whatever. Or change a despicable quiver to look like a cloak. Or a tangle into an obi. It would be perfect for artifacts that people still use, and would even be nice for crafted items for greater customization--instead of every sampire having bladed staffs, everyone could have whatever two handed weapon a crafter made it look like, with it retaining the same function.

Or it could just be its own skill. I know I'd make room for it.

Maybe a crafting mastery should allow crafters to make brittle, 50 to 75 durability version of artifacts like orny, tangle, crimmy and others, with the use of special materials.
Since the real ones have no durability, they would be more desirable than the crafted ones, but there would be a market for the crafted artifacts as well. 75 durability can go a rather long way and would work as a replaceable placeholder till you could get the real thing, or you would just keep replacing it with crafted ones for convenience.

That's why they need to make animated dead stop losing HP over time. Right now the only way to ride that undead horse is to create it, hop on, and recall or gate across a server line with it so it bugs out and stops losing health.

I posted something about this a while ago (they really should hire me). The base idea was the uber crafter. I hated having to take one crafting skill on and off my character, and is it really that game breaking to have all the crafting skills on one character? And then I went on how certain combinations of certain skills would 'give' you a skill. Example- if you are 120 Blacksmith and 120 Tailor, you really should get GM Arms Lore.

Anyway- that is how I see it. Having certain combinations of skills unlock or opens up extra skills/skill points.

stealing.mastery.. you can't stealing persons insured stuff but when you do steal you get insurance money based on item that comes from players bank.
LOVE IT!!! I guess if you got killed within 2 minutes of the steal the gold would revoked from your account. I swear, it would be easy to get rich as a thief.

Another taming mastery could be/ added hp /stats/ resists upon successful tames. Or the ability to adjust stats of pets within the pets limits. Sorta like players can.
