Its like a freezer here too, 61 now with a high of 75. So cold...about to get the pool up ans running again. It's bad when you have to drain it in Mid-November and put it back up at the end of February but it is so brutally cold here we lose an entire 3-4 months of outdoor swimming! 
There's room in my life for more than one game.

I really am jealous of some of you with your cool/cold weather. February should NOT be shorts weather. But then again, we had the AC on for Christmas day, so that just isn't right either, unless you live in the southern hemisphere.

LOL ! Well, I'm coming to visit friends in FL this summer with the family. Going to Disney of course. And some scuba in hot waters ! Yep, definately a nice place to live !Sure thing

Isn't the tradeoff for Florida weather a brutal mosquito season? That's kind of how I remember Florida... so many bugs. Including fire ants. I think they were fire ants anyway... sure burned when a bunch of them bit me when I was a kid. Also, alligators everywhere.

Bugs aren't that bad and be careful around lakes and rivers and all is good
I've lived here since 1987 and I can honestly say I saw a lot more mosquitoes in every other state I ever lived in (including New York, Virginia and Montana). And I guess I've been lucky... have lived in the same house for 18 years and haven't had a problem with fire ants. (Though, to be fair, I do know a number of folks who have had problems with the little devils. Mean little critters!)

We had more problem with the fire ants in Georgia than we have here, but we do have a HUGE problem with mosquitoes! Especially around the pool, it gets horrible in the evenings.

It's going to freeze here tonight. Just covered my cherry tomatoes, dug up my lemongrass and brought the whole thing inside. Covered my nasturtiums... hope they make it since it took so dang long for them to germinate! This is Florida for crying out loud... it's not supposed to feel like Canada moved south.
