I have played from 97-2009 then 2013-now...

First run was mostly pvp ... running guilds... and some pvm when new things came out.

break due to having my son.. then started back up once i had the time again.. mostly now pvm.. and idoc ... due to crap con and connection.. living in the mountains of California.

I get board.. don't agree with.all the devs do.. other players can be jerks.. lost a few houses.. all of my stuff a couple times.. etc..but ill be here till UOs unplugged. Cya in game! :p

I'm a little too lazy tonight to make a forum handle "Ross Perot" and start a thread. In reverse of his campaign, first post: "I'm quitting UO!" Second post: "No, wait, I'm back in." Third post: "Yeah, I guess I really am quitting."

You may well mock, but with every player UO loses, you are one small step closer to not having a game to play. Whether you're quitting or not will soon be irrelevant.

I'll probably be here until they pull the plug. I have those moments where I don't log in for months because of r/l and come back feeling like I need to re-learn how to play the game.

Im.not really mocking.. its more of attempting to add some light to uhall .. as for being irrelevant.. its just my end game now.. being around till i can't play no.more... as well as getting my four year old able to get UO down enough so we can do some stuff together... would to me be very fun and fulfilling. :)

I tried to get my son involved when he was about seven (hes 16 now). It was the first game he'd seen played online and used to watch me when he was growing up. I wouldnt let him play alone and we used to sit with our laptops side by side and play together, just doing really simple stuff like resource gathering or hunting low level monsters maybe in Shame before the revamp. It didnt hold his interest more than a few months unfortunately but whilst it lasted, just doing those simple low level things with him is one of my happiest UO memories and something I treasure. I hope UO sticks around long enough for you to get to play with your little one too.

For me it was the young sons..12and 14 that got me into this. The needed help to translate Stratics , and their English results in scool sky-rocked , finally something was useful in scool. They noticed it felt fine to be good at something and it spilled ower to all scool work. I helped them talk ingame as well and they helped me to handle a comp.. I became addicted before I started to play. Tey gave me the 5th char slot on their account , and since then I played every day exept some weeks in hospital or a short vacation. That time with them was the best. This was 15 years ago and im going nowhere.

It only took me 6 years...but I made my way back to UO. Not because of what they provide now...but more of the content they provided that gave me such fond memories.

That being said...my thief skills are getting pretty rusty since it's a task in itself just to find someone to steal from on Siege. This has caused me to train skills I never would have thought of training years ago...and ya know what...I'm having fun.

Sure it's a different fun and it doesn't provide the rush that thieving did back in the day, but fun none the less...la
