((IMPORTANT OOC NOTES: All items should be RP/novelty/silly items and not actual rares/valuables as they will NOT be secure. This is not like any auction you've probably ever attended--it's all in good fun and you can expect things to be weird and messy. Just enjoy it!))
Today I visited the auction house and to my horror found something pinned to the door. Surely this was not another threatening note about a kidnapped daughter!
To my relief, I found that it was not. Instead it was this message:
There was also some melted ice cream on the auction house steps. Clearly the work of a goblin.
But... an auction in Pitmuck? Details were scarce, so I tracked down the only goblin I knew who had the temerity to paste a poster for her own auction onto my auction house door--Soozie Squidglet. Well, temerity and lots of glue.
I found Soozie at the playground riding the merry go round and asked her about the sign. After a while I was able to gather the following details:
- The Pitmuck Auction will be held on Friday, January 23 at 8PM ET.
- Since Pitmuck does not have an auction house, the auction will be held on the lawn behind the playground.
- Soozie Squidglet and Squishy will be running it.
- All items/lots are DONATIONS. You will not get the money from your item--any profit will be split between the cities of Pitmuck, Vesper, and Minoc.
((All items should be RP/novelty/silly items and not actual rares/valuables as they will NOT be secure. Which leads into...))
- Donators can present their own items! Tell auction-goers all about your item and why it is worth buying! (I should note that the anonymity that most auctions have cannot be guaranteed here anyway as goblins are hopeless chatterboxes.)
- Each seller may contribute only ONE item/lot.
- There is a maximum of 20 lots for the entire auction. (This, apparently, is as high as goblins can count.) Please respond to this thread to reserve an auction slot! You can include a brief description of your item, but please save the full description for the auction itself.
- There will not be ATMs or vendors, so you will need to pay in cash or checks. Since there are only a max of 20 lots, you can wait and pay at the end.
- Non-paying bidders and other undesirables will probably be peed on. Such is goblinkind.
For those of you unfamiliar with Pitmuck, it can easily be reached by using the statue at the Pitmuck city banner along the southern Luna wall. It is, of course, the one that looks like an ice cream cone:
Soozie is really excited about this auction, and I offered to help by passing the word along. She said that if the auction was a success there might be more in the future. Hope to see you there!
