And actually there is a reason why UO doesn't have this: old coding and lack of resources. These 'speeders' have been around for years now and the constant Monday morning quarterbacking on Stratics about it still hasn't changed anything yet. Why expect them to hear your prayers now? They probably would have to do something dramatic (like do away with classic client) to solve this, but we all know that the rest of the UO community would never go for that. Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it, too.

And despite all that, Dexers are still not as hard to kill as you think they are. The 210 stam Archers are, yes, but they spend the time/money to make the suit, they should be able to take full advantage.

If I get disarmed, I keep my distance until I can re-equip my weap (equip last weap macro.) Dismount? Easy to avoid for people that use a bola. I hit my dismount macro, then the remount macro after about 1.5 seconds. If it's a weapon dismount, very rarely will I die if there's not a group on me (and if I manage to survive, I can remount far more often than I should be able to, since they don't go after my pet.)

Deathstrikers? Only one I've seen has resist, and I hate her for it. She can still be neutered with an Omen/Vamp combo, but it's hard to do it to her 1v1.

If ANYTHING about Dexers should be nerfed, it's the forced walk timer on Frenzied Whirlwind. That **** is just stupid. Get hit multiple times & you can't run away from whatever their followup is. In a group fight, that's a death sentence.

Does the spell make dexxers have to pile on more stats then should be needed on some templates? Yes. And that is just another reason why its so powerful.
I pile on my stats and run with 120 resist and still carry a trapped box for the odd omen necro tandems and I kill mages

Against most dexers, I don't even use Omen. Could I? Of course. But what am I gonna use it for? A Curse that drops their stats more than normal? Meh. Paralyzing them if they have 120 resist? They can just break out of it with a box, whether they have resist or not. Poison? The bandage heal will remove it, then heal whatever damage they have.

What makes me qualified to answer this thread?

I play mages, dexers, tamers - thoroughly.

Mages take more player skill to master, but when they are mastered, they are the best in the game.

Dexers take less player skill, but require the best gear in the game - making them deadly.

Mages will keep dumping hundreds of millions into these stupid antique legendary rings thinking they're going to be the best mage in the game with them, not realizing that they really need to know cast spell timing to properly play a mage in PVP combat. These godly pieces of gear will NOT win you duels, sorry to say (Mith.)

A dexer? Yea, they have an easier time learning their template. They don't need to time out their abilities (mostly) however they do have an order of priority, and decision making can make or break their fight. Most importantly they need to be standing next to their targets to make a swing at a person. That swing never EVER being 100% successful.

The system is obviously balanced seeing there are valid arguments from both sides.

I don't like Goldberg but I have seen him play a mage (granted it was only when Mystics were broken and were allowed to double cast). He does know what he's doing (more so than most people) and he's pretty much right...If you don't pvp on atlantic you can't be that good at pvping.

Edit: Yes, I'm aware that any competitive and good pvper plays on multiple shards. It's pretty widely recognized though that Atlantic hosts the most fighters, the biggest fights, the most guilds, and it has consistently been the most active pvp shard for the past several years. Therefore, if you don't play there, you're probably fighting the same guild/5-10 people on a weekly basis and your opinions and talents will always be questioned until you compete on Atl.

The cool down to mass sleep would be it's pretty long casting time. As for the frenzied whirlwind, I don't play dexxers so I don't know how it works I've just seen it spammed for a solid minute and I'm pretty sure splinters were going off. As I said before though, I don't think there are any urgent changes needed at the moment.

BTW: The very best pvpers of this game (and no I'm not referring to myself) play multiple shards to get the best of the game there is. ATL is the most populated shard, thus all the best players DO play there, but that's not to say they don't play on other shards as well. I've considered myself a competitive player even before I played on ATL - and that's ok if you didn't ;P

It's whirlwind with...hmm, I can't think of any multi-hit specials except double strike, but it hits more than 2x + splinter effect (which is why splintering wakizashi is redundant.) I don't know how long Frenzied keeps you under forced walk, but I do know it's long enough that a group will EASILY kill you...or the person using it will, because they've just equipped a disarm weap, and you can't get away from them.

I think its pretty much balanced now that i think about it.
In about 8 months, all competitive templates will have around 780 or more skill points. (not saying all good players will, but all the best templates will)
being able to incorporate parry so easily into a mage now, or a hci/splintering mageweapon suit will balance out archers. Archers will get a damage / survival boost as well, those extra points go along way, but in general even the massive stats possible with a mage makes parry just so easy that overall it will still be balanced.

Okay, but you were the one saying you omen mana vamp dexers. That was my whole point is that its useless against a good dexer. You wouldn't even a get a curse that drops it more if they were smart because they'd just box the omen before you curse.

Again if you set up your character correct then it 100% does not affect the heal time or ssi and that is 100% true, if you're that terrible on a dexer(and I know you are) I can show you how to set it up so it doesn't happen.

It works just the same on mages by your logic. A mage would have to make sure they throw extra stats in their int so it doesn't lower their sdi bonus from int, or str so an item doesn't fall off like those items that require 125 str, or dex if they are a parry mage so they can retrain the max parry by staying over 80. Your argument is null and void, you're acting as though only dexers have to worry about it.

I've seen you pvp and its really bad. I like here though you claim you kill people it's cute.

You also dont point out the fact that a dexer doesn't have to do anything to do good damage. Any good mage knows you HAVE to curse your target or you're damage is laughable. Dexers have to do what? Oh that's right nothing at all, they just do static high damage without having something that can be appled to reduce their damage by 33%.

Your board skills are about as good as your pvp skills haha. Yikes.

3) You talk about pvp and straight up said I do not know what I am talking about yet I pvp on the busiest and only real pvp shard and you are wandering around some desolate shard.

4) In case you have not realized it yet, pvp is the most competitive aspect of UO.
That being said, all the competition is currently on my shard and there is basically none anywhere else (including whatever other shard you are on)
Do you realize how foolish you sound when you try to talk crap yet you wont or cant even compete where the only competition is?
