10th Anniversary of the tsunami of 2004.

Today is it exactly 10 years ago a tsunami killed around 250.000 people in asia. It was one of the most devastading natural disasters ever recorded. Needless to say, this catastrophe had a great impact on people all over the world.

Seeing the pictures from back then, today, brought back fond memories about, how this event also had an impact on our community.

Stratics' own, legendary, Crazy Joe, established Gamers Charity, with the sole purpose to collect money to American Red Cross, helping the victims of this disaster. Crazy Joe and Brekee set up a network of volunteers, to set up donation vendors on all our shards. Auctions were also held, where items donated by players were sold to generate even more cash for the cause.

I look back at this marvelous event, thinking about how great this community is!

We remember it well here, I live about 10 minutes from the western Thailand coast and I was here when it hit, had just left Phuket area the year before which was hit hard but not as hard as the area about 10 miles north of it. My best friend wife's sister was killed along with most of their family. It has not been forgotten nor has it been forgotten that the same thing could happen again. Pray for the many families, both Thai and foreigners who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy.

To see the care that came from all over Thailand to the victims was incredible. Our little village with a population of maybe 3,000 had 3 large trucks filled with clothes, blankets, food, water, etc on their way to Phuket area the next day and several more the next week
