Question about proxy Services... Which one to use with UO?

I've heard of at least 3 different proxy services that people use with UO..

WTFast
Lowerping
Battle ping

So... I have a few questions..

1) Do they all work with UO ? I've heard people say WTFast is what they use but I cannot seem to find where they say it works with UO on their website.. The others DO say it does...

2) Will these services allow me to continue to use UOA? If not what are people doing without UOA?

3) Which is the BEST one to use?

Why would you want to use a Proxy? Wouldn't that just add hops to your route?

Battle ping tends to be used by the pvp'ers I've asked about it, so I've always assumed that one is the best. I've never used any though, so could be completely wrong.

i tried 2 of them over the summer, WTFast and Battle Ping i think was the 2nd one.
wasnt really impressed with either.
the couple MS i saved didnt negate the price and pain to fire it up and such.
plus if you run multiple computers and accounts it only works on the one.

i may try them again this winter to see if there is a difference again as winter time there is a noticeable increase in lag from all the house locked people due to weather.

i know a few that use lower ping that say its better the wtfast .. but know one that uses wtfast. never knew anyone with battle ping. i did free trials of wtfast and lower ping.. did not see.much of a difference.

i think i should upgrade my dated laptop first

Battleping here and absolutely love it, could NOT exist in this game without it. But I am not in the USA.

I use lowerping to get a ~84ms ping to Atlantic and Great Lakes from the Seattle WA area. Works well for me.

Battle Ping does wonders for skip lag. I am in az and use a Chicago or Atlanta server in battle ping and it drops my ping to an avg of 52-56 from 180-200.

No problem at all with Battleping, that's the only one I know about. It really doesn't make anything any different, you open Battleping, choose the server closest to the shard you use, open UOAssist just like normal, open game just like normal, you will see nothing strange, it just streamlines your path to the server I guess. All I know is it works fantastic from Asia and I have heard folks say it works in the US too if you are playing a server a ways away from you. Oh and I've been using it going on 2 years now, so it's not just a flash in the pan thing.

i can double confirm that, i had no problem running UOA when i tested it out.

I used wtfast for a few months. It did absolutely nothing for my ping but it did smooth out the connection. Wasn't worth the price imo.

I believe all of these have free trials so you can try for yourself. Unless things have changed, wtfast trial shuts down every 20min so you WILL lose con.

I've found that using a BP server half way between you and the shard server generates better performance. Connecting to a server nearby the shard server is only good if you already have a good ping without the proxy to that location.

BP is the same way.. 30 days and a 20 min disconnect.
