All Fel and Tram Dungeons have a Dungeon Keeper at the entrances..

You can do the quest once a day
The quest rises in difficulty exponentially based on party size, as well as loot table..idk just an idea

Destard for instance
Slay 40x wyverns
Slay 15x greater Dragons
Slay 20x Dragons
Slay 15x shadow wyrms
Slay 10x ancient dragons

At the end of the quest you recieve a dragons egg. And the egg can be placed on an alter at the entrance of Destard and it spawns a Legendary Dragon.. Yes it seems very cookie cutter MMO..but it could add another dimension to "champ spawns" another reason to dungeon crawl, as it is now I can farm ancients all day and maybe see 1-2 people popping in to maybe run spawns, not much dungeon action these days. Could be beneficial to get groups back into dungeons.."anti-PK, or just dungeon events"

The Heartwood kill quests should have been updated into something worth doing YEARS AGO.

As it is, we have a complete quest system in the game that goes virtually unused. Meanwhile the developers pour resources down the toilet designing other unused systems from scratch.

Yes I agree, it shouldn't be too difficult to expand quests using the systems already involved in the game. I'm not talking get 5 venom sacs from the spiders type of quests. But something that can be done by a legendary swordsman or even a neophyte swordsman..something based on character strength, and rewards are chosen based upon that. Same quest NPC, different difficulties

I fear that this would just be another grind to go along with everything else they put out, since its seems that's all they can manage.

Blackthorn's, Doom, Trade Deals (to a lesser extent, unless you are going after that near-useless mempo (no, FC1 isn't that exciting))

"Go kill 150 Ancient Wyrms for a chance at phat lootz" isn't very appealing.

Well It would only go that high if you had a group..it wouldn't be a grind because it would be something you had to do..it would more a less add another dynamic to dungeons..if you're going hunting for dragon anyways why not do a quest to keep you there. Heck of you go with 2-3 buddies you'll blow through it..and have a chance at getting some good items and of done in fel maybe a little harassment. I'm not saying it would get done or is even on the spectrum. But anything to keep the current player base engaged is always a good thing..no matter how much or how little..

LOL!

In another game I play they have several varaities of these, and right now I am not missing them all that much. I have several types of content that I do daily or semi regularly in this game already.

Look it's not even hard. Watch.

1) New higher-level kill quests are added that ask you to kill tougher creatures and/or particular bosses.

2) Instead of awarding bags of trash loot, kill quests award Trophy items.

3) Community Collections are modified to accept Trophies as turn-ins, and only Trophies. (If someone wants to dump a million scripted boards they can use Clean Up Britannia.) Trophy items may take the form of books for the Library, relics for the Museum, etcetera, whatever, with Trophies awared from harder quests being much more valuable.

4) Community Collections gain new rewards. Recolor some mounts. Recycle the Personal Attendant code to make vanity pets that do interesting things without taking up a stable slot. Give tamers a magic ice crystal that turns a Greater Dragon white and gives it ice damage breath instead of fire. Add a necromancer item that buffs Animate Dead in some way. Add a mage item that makes energy vortexes different colors. Throw in some more item sets that are actually moderately worth equipping. Whatever.

5) Oh yeah, you know what else? For every party member who participates in a quest, your chance of getting an extra Trophy goes up by 10 percent. That's right, if you get a full party of 10 then everyone is guaranteed two Trophies. Because screw it, there may as well be a reason to group in this game.

6) Holy crap dog, people are doing quests. And killing bosses. And getting stuff. In groups. And some guy with 40 million boards saved up can't have every reward on Day One because Community Collections only take Trophies now. AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO DESIGN ANY NEW SYSTEMS FROM SCRATCH. Everything here is an adaptation of a system (quests, collections, bosses) that already exists. You know, sort of the perfect project for a small team.

God it's agonizing watching them drive this game off a cliff.

I would prefer something a bit more organic. Like a world wide "special" item drop chance that increases with kills and is limited to one per x days, and would come randomly from a list each having some unique use like you mention, only players would have to discover the "alter" or whatever locations.

I've said this for years, but there should be some form of daily "quests" or "bounties" similar to what's mentioned above that rewards players with skill points in an appropriate discipline. The skill grind in this game is ridiculous and probably as far from new player friendly as you can get. That's why a good portion of players script train. Script training is boring too since you're not actually playing; they need to make it fun to actually play the game as intended and still be rewarded with meaningful progression. Every single dev team up until this point seems to not realize how **** training skills is, probably because they're used to just setting all their skills to max in 10 seconds.

That's a slippery slope away from Sandbox though. You'll wind up grinding anyways it's just provides a distraction to make you think you aren't grinding that would be different.

I don't think people mind the grind so much if there's "progression"

Like for example..let's say the Mempo for example. Maybe it takes 5000 trade quests to get..but make it known and put some sort of progression gump or anything just so it doesn't feel as if time is wasted..like if I knew every 40 medusas Id get a slither..yes it would be Grindy, but at least Id know in 26 more kills im "guaranteed" one..but that's not to say the RNg wouldn't give me one on the 22nd try and reset the counter. I don't think anything should be easy or handed out by any means..just some form of gratification is needed..grinding in doom for 80 hours for 50 items without ever knowing if or when it'll drop isn't fun..hence the reason it's scripted. It's monotonous and boring.

It's not making it easier, it's making it more predictable and less of a guessing game...not easier.

SotA is cool. Been alpha and beta myself and supported by Stratics. Heard a lot about Archage. Never tried it though.

I'm not trying to be difficult with you. The game is antiquated and already been dumbed down for nearly 2 decades with subscription hostaging.

One day it will hopefully it will go f2p and you can vote with your wallet again but it will be whether to keep your house standing or insuring your uber suit for $10.

A true UO thief can only dream. :)

Getting skillgains from completing quests would be way the hell better than getting them from standing there casting the same spell 900 times in a row.
Okay, just because I'm curious as to other peoples perceptions. Don't the newish trader's quests provide a path like this?
