Satyr trick fixed? Or me just being dumb?

Hello again, I am slowly crawling my way back into UO and decided to do something I never did before - building a treasure hunter with carto. I remembered the Satyrs in Twisted Weald being so kind as to disco your char, reducing the skills and allowing some nice boost in skillgain. However, they seem not only to disco your char, but also to calm it, so you are not able to cast "invis" on yourself to stop the aggro. Also, they seem to teleport back if they were lured to the pixie area. Since when are the changes in place? Is there any "workaround" for the satyrs you know of? Or is it just me being some veteran without any clue?

Regards, Fizzle

Its the dryads that are calming you, not the satyrs.

i just worked cart and lockpicking on a satyr last week and it worked fine.
i bring in a 2nd account to cast invis on me once im discoed though, i find it works better that way.
and the satyr's dont bounce back, they respawn if they are inactive for a while.
so what ill do, again with my 2nd account, is drop a fireball on the satyr every half hour or so then run away just to keep him active and stop him from respawning.

The satyrs in Despise are lot better and easier. You can train it up to lvl 10 and get -42% disco, then anchor it to a barrel or object - put it in defencive mode and attack on safe range Works flawlessly.

The satyrs in Despise...
Shhhh!!! Not so loud, now they'll have 'Cannot be attacked', 'Brittle' 'Antique', 'Karma -10000' and 'Durability 255/255' properties after next publish. :rolleyes2:

Not sure I understand....

Train Cartography to 10 points of skill ? Why not buy it up to 30ish ??

Also, what do you mean by "anchor it to a barrel or object - put it in defencive mode and attack on safe range" ?

Do you mean set the Satyr to arrack a barrel or another object ?? How would one achieve this ?? And then put the Satyr on defense mode ?
How on earth can a player set a NPC on "defensive mode" to then attack it from a safe range away ??

In Despise you can get them as a pet, for doing the spawns. Good Karma is Satyr, Bad Karma is Phantom. When you double click the orb and target your pet - it changes agression. If you double click the orb, and target a object or something else - it will stay with the object or player you targeted.

When at defence mode, it will not fight you back - just defend if you too close.

Also, the higher level you train it till - the higher skill it will get, and disco you more.
