Topic Question, thanks!
exceptional iron swampy is same damage reduction to player as valorite ----you might be confused. dragon "resists" have nothing to do with your damage reduction. the armor resists only apply to the dragon itself, the damage reduction to the player is only effected by if the swampy armor is "exceptional" exceptional iron swampy is same damage reduction to player as valorite.
http://www.uoguide.com/Dragon_Barding_Deedexceptional iron swampy is same damage reduction to player as valorite ----
Where did this statement come from, first time I've ever heard it.
I'd sure like to see an authoritative answer about what swampy armor actually does, seems like I've seen way too many opinions and none by the devs. There seems to be no up to date info on it on UOGuide nor Stratics.
I thought it was what Mr Smither says - a 20% reduction in damage taken and my experience is the same as his, about the same damage number reduction. I know on Rikktor the damage reduction is very significant.
I remembered the durability being the biggest reason to use colored ores. Did not know about the resists for the dragon when you are not mounted. I learned something. Thanks!Yes Iron or valorite it absorb the same amount of damage : 10% for non-exceptional and 20% for exceptional. Only thing different from iron to valorite, is the duration of the armor and the swampy's resistances. Valorite will give total + 165 total resists to the swampy and iron only +100. Valorite armor has 14,500 durability, iron has 12,000. Shadow iron is an exception with 17,000 durability armor .
