Has anyone figured out a way to rid antique items of their Antiquity?

In real life Antique items last a long long long time, maybe too long in my opinion. So anyone who has a method to add longevity to UO's antiques, let us all know. Thanks.

Antique items in real life are usually very old and most are fragile. I wouldn't want to use them as a weapon or armor. They would most likely break faster than a brand new piece.
