I'm excited that the dev team is working / planning on a pet revamp.
But I hope that PvP and PvM damage and skills will be separate. Otherwise the pet system will be limited in it's potential due to it being overpowered in pvp.
Even currently, the pet system in UO is very unique. I enjoy trying to find that perfect pet / hunting with them. With the possibility of activated skills, more pets, stronger pets (or at least bringing other pets up to greater dragon levels)... It sounds great but I don't see how it would be possible without reducing pets damage in pvp.
I'd post this in the tamer forum but there's probably not a lot of pvpers in there. And I'm also not trying to nerf anyone. I've been both a pvper and a tamer. I just don't want the revamp to be limited by pvp.
