from what ive seen with all my accounts and from what im hearing from guild mates the drop rate of getting a towel with your name on it is about 2-3% but of course the RNG has the final say on that.
i had one account that didnt even get 1 across all the shards and then my other account got like 8.

haha, we are using the same brain cause i was thinking the very same thing and went to try it, no go.
i was thinking that these might actually be a useful gift for a second.

yes and no there was someone saying they got a sword from themselves (instead of an mod or em) to themselves , I don't think it had been confirmed or if it was just a bug on test

you can still get a newbie dagger btw - it's called "Someone's Dagger" and it drops semi-regularly off the crystal sea serpents in the prism of light dungeon and it's blessed

its only the towels that can get your char name...

all the swords have a dev name and your char name

No clue on that G.v.P I already got all my rewards now. I figure the longer you delay the more likely you are to miss out. But then I had to redo the UI on all my characters anyway so I needed to log them all in and out anyway.
