VvV has a serious alliance breaking bug! (Be aware)

For everyone in an alliance who his looking to join VvV be aware that there is a bug causing your entire guild to removed from their alliance if anybody in the guild opts to participate in VvV. Yes, even if you are not the guild master, it removes your guild from the alliance.

First: Kyronix is aware of this and is investigating.

For those not familiar with VvV this is how it's supposed to work:

• VvV is an opt in program.
• You as an individual choose to join the fight.
• You use your guild menu to volunteer yourself for the fun and games.
• This puts you in VvV but your guild mates are free to continue life as they choose.

All of the above works as intended. However, sometime around downtime last night many guilds were removed from their alliances due to members joining VvV. I wish you the best of luck to guilds and alliances who no longer have guild masters and alliance owners actively playing.

Basically, don't join VvV if you are in an allied guild until and unless this is fixed.

Wow. When I checked our alliance on Origin on Monday, it looked like it was still in place. However, maybe Lore Denin who heads up the alliance had also joined VvV at or around the same time and that was what saved it.

I just checked again now and we are still allied with two other guilds, at least according to the Diplomacy section of the guild gump. Guess I gotta find Lore and see if he's still green!

I'm not sure if you have reached this point yet, but do you know if you be able to add guilds back into alliances? Some people have missing guild leaders due to the age of the guilds and alliances.

There is a system in place for this. Elect a new GM.

Guilds that lead alliances and have members in VvV do not seem to break the whole alliance. At least not on Origin.

I'm meant that alliance members do stat each other right now, and was hoping someone could look into fixing it. So far though our alliance is still together, hopefully it'll stay that way.

What she said. Also, you can re-ally guilds, fortunately. I'm not too sure of the specifics, but I was in the vent of the guild I was allied with (before VvV terminated it for a few hours) all day. We even fought one another a few times (well, if you want to call it that. It was me vs 5-6 of them. But I did say ingame I'd fight if they wanted to) just to alleviate the boredom of them getting points for unopposed city capturing.

Unfortunately, this isn't always a possibility without reforming the entire alliance due to how the system is set up. My alliance should be fine, but there are edge cases to be aware of.

This is eventually going to be used as a pvp weapon until they fix it to lol, guild 1 sends someone to their enemy guild to get recruited, guild 2 recruits, the spy joins VvV and kills guild 2's alliance, leaving guild 1 with a major pvp advantage.

I did have an issue trying to add a guild to the Alliance but that guild was in the process of leaving VvV which may have made him unable to accept the request. Which might mean its not joining BUT the leaving VvV which causes the issue.

When is the next maintenance cycle? I got another patch yesterday but again my guild was removed from it's alliance..... So I guess that wasn't the maintenance cycle lol!

As of this morning, my VvV character that is in a guild that is in your alliance on Origin still doesn't see the VvV tag next to her name in the guild roster nor on her search.uo.com listing. Edited to add: Just double checked and yes the alliance still seems to be in place.

VvV tags seem to be inconsistently displayed on the Guild Roster. Not sure why some characters show they are in and others do not. Think they said VvV info will be added soon as well as guild alliances and enemies.

One thing about Character and Guild search that I hope is added is search by Guild Tag. I had trouble looking up my alliance members because I mostly refer to them by tags. Then when searching by name "You are Dead" they actually spell it " U R Dead" so it took me awhile to find them.

PS: Another reason I dislike seeing someone's complete skill set is now I'd know which thieves I'd have to target to prevent stealing of a sigil and which ones would lack the ability and not be a threat (100 natural stealing).
