The new default UI

It's the 18th today and I just loaded up the EC and it still looks the same. Is there something I need to do to enable it?

I logged onto Origin to see if that made any difference but still the same.

I'm in the UK so its only early morning here. Maybe need to wait for the US to wake up?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this!

Yes, you need to wait till the Devs inthe US are awake and patch the client.

So I think Origin has been down for maintenance according to the times posted here. It says 1pm GMT and its now 2:39pm.

I run the EC and no patch and it all still looks the same to me.

There was NO mention that it would be at server up, it only says the 18th ........ You need a Patch for the UI , you need a Publish for the new stuff.

It's morning over there. I'm pretty sure, that they don't patch during the night, when noone is in the office. And I don't think there is something like stand duty for UO.....

I would like clarification of what will happen with any macros and UI settings you may have changed to be other than the default setting when this new UI goes live in the near future. Will patching your EC client automatically wipe out all your saved macros and settings? Or will everything that can be carried over to the new UI be carried over and anything else will be deleted or just become nonfunctional?

If your saved macros and settings are going to be deleted when you patch for the new UI, I think it would be very, very important to let players know a few days ahead of time with a BIG message on uo.com, here, and on the patch screen telling you that this will be the case and also if there is a recommended way to backup such information so you can save yourself some time when redoing your macros and other customized settings, if applicable.

If you use Pincos, he seems to have stated (insert legal disclaimer here) that by simply switching your preferences to the default UI you will have an operational client, albeit one without your created macros. Once he is ready to release the beginnings of his modified UI, using his patcher, and changing your preferences back to his custom UI, that all will be right with Sosaria, once again.

The way I understand this is if you normally use the default EC then you will automatically be switched to the new Default and all maros and things should be imported! Thank you to you and Viquire for the clarification. I hope people who use the EC and specifically use Pinco's are paying attention so they can log in and play when this hits. I'd hate to see people lose changes they may have made to settings to allow the EC to run smoothly and well on their computers.

Do you know of any way for people to perhaps make a printout of their own customized adjustments to the EC (and their macros, just for the heck of it) just in case the worst happens and they have to start all over again, as if they'd just downloaded the EC for the very first time?

Yeah make sure to backup the user profiles just in case guys and girls!

I have alot of macros stored and think I will be able to copy them back to my new profile in the future using Pincos profile manager.

I backed up my whole "user data" folder just in case.

As Storm posted above I think you only need the character files.

Due to the fact some last minutes changes were made to Vice vs Virture from player feedback we will not be able to publish to Origin and Izumo today. Since we do not publish on Fridays we will be manually publishing this on Monday afternoon.

Sorry for the delay but we wanted to make sure we got all your feedback in before we put them out to the public. This does not change our targetted release date of September 24th.

I'm hoping the new UI is arriving today. They said it was delayed until Monday (afternoon) but didn't make it clear if this would include the UI or just the actual publish to Origin etc.
