Eh, it isn't really a good place for a meet. It's loud, crowded, and generally dark. A poor place to actually socialize.

It's a good time to be had AFTER a meet though. I've been to Kissimmee's and Toronto's and both were fun shows.

I'm not a real life pirate I have a chainmail tunic, white shirt with the puffy sleeves, and a sword belt. That's about it. Have to work with that. Plus the festival is being a butt about swords these days so that's out. So I gotta leave the sword at home. To many drunks sword fighting, lol. They even got rid of the pickle man here, he was the best too. Most insulting off color person I ever heard, lol.

OMG your Renn. Faire isn't Scarbourgh Faire in Tx is it? The OK Renn Faire used to have the BEST pirate group and the owner of the Castle (the guy's renown for his acts of ****** baggery) screwed them over and ticked them. Full story long and complicated but they'll come back to OK Ren Faire when hades freezes over. So it's OU Renn Faire but it falls in Apr. always hard to get a weekend free in Apr. Best bunch of pirates! Here's their website http://www.thebilgepumps.com/. LOL last time I was at OK Renn Faire a drunken "Scot" in a kilt mooned the whole Ceilidh. Have any of those at yours? Medieval Times is fun but it's really not good for a gathering--it's more like watching a play with a table and food in front of you. A Ren Faire would probably be better--more sandbox and less linear quest.

Medieval Times is the equivalent of watching a movie in terms of its function as a social gathering, I would say. Still an enjoyable show though.

If you do go, just remember that the Green Knight is the superior knight. Red and Blue Knight are fatherless bastards who also smell like elderberries. I don't remember the other colors because they are irrelevant fodder for Green Knight.

That is only a small area outside of downtown. Downtown is quite beautiful, clean, architecturally interesting. Trip Advisor ranks Chicago as #2 for top destinations in the US.
