I have to agree with the OP. I'm not ready to pull the plug just yet tho.

For me its 2 things: population on all shards not named ATL have reached critical levels, and I refuse to play there because my tolerance for those who behave like hormonally charged 12 year olds is severely lacking. Maybe if chat ignore became unlimited?

Really the only other thing is the grind. I don't have days on end to spend trying to get one slither or piece of shame loot. And even if I did I know I could find better things to do. That's not as big of a deal since I'm capable of doing without

I have a few good friends who still play occasionally but when they leave? *shrugs*

It is/was a great game and a fun ride but it was always more about the players than the pixels to me and without them its hard to justify the sub fee

*ends sorta rant*

ArcheAge isn't really gonna appeal to UO players IMO...

Several of my friends i play with on Great Lakes had bought the beta (some even bought the alpha) for this game and love it. This is supposed to go live Sept. 16 and will be free to play. From the videos i have seen this seems to be a very interesting game and from news reports i have received from my friends they already have about 50,000 ppl playing (one guild already has recruited 3k). With this kind of numbers at beta (and it costs $100 per account for beta) i would expect the numbers to swell once it is free to play. I plan on giving the game a try once it goes free to play.

That's only if you buy your way in to beta. There's been randomly selected free beta players every beta event (I've managed to get in every time woo)

1. Whines about UO
2. Other games are better
3. Kept accounts open just to support the new team? *rolls eyes* That was my favorite...
4. Leaving

Makes it sound like UO put a gun to her head and made her quit, lol. Just leave please.... TYVM! Buh bye!
This is the attitude that has done more harm to the game than anything else. UO is left with the spoiled brats on the playground. The anti-social few that have little to no social skills and spend their time berating others. Want to know why PVP is so dead? You drove people away with your behavior. Look not further than the mirror for UO's problems.

To Shakkara - best of luck to you in the future. I understand completely your decision. I have enjoyed Guild Wars as well. UO could learn alot from that game. I hang on here because I have too much crap to just say goodbye and some weird part of me is holding out for the day I might get to use xfer shields. However, I certainly play less UO than I ever have in the past. I agree on most points. The crafting and loot systems are a complete joke. No one wants to spend 90% of their time trying to figure out how to gear up. Most of the new 'content' is adding more complex systems like reforging and refinement instead of actual adventure. How about new dungeons, new monsters, new things to DO instead of just more complexity? Anyways - this is not the place for that discussion.

Best of luck! Best thing to look forward to is less Capt' Lucky's in your future.

All for the anti UO opinion, but pro UO opinions aren't valid? *Holds mirror for Theo*

Exactly this. I have seen in general chat a few peeps coming thru, trying to check out the fel scene. Several of them weren't returning vets, but new players. They didn't stay long, and after listening what was said to them in chat, I can understand why.

They probably didn't stay long if they came to check out the "Fel scene" cause there's no one in Fel lol
