Bugged Terrain Frustrations

So I was just doing some treasure hunting on the Minotaur Island in Malas... As is the norm for me at the moment, my invisibility failed as I pulled up the chest. I was then chased by an air elemental (moving at super speeds by the way. I should have been able to outrun it, even on foot, but couldn't) and got stuck on a small slope. Needless to say I died. So I got resurrected, re-equipped and went to get my body for take two. Well, herein lies the issue. I couldn't reach it.

My body was lying in plain sight on this little slope, and I could not gather my belongings. I tried every nearby and adjacent tile, and even stood right on top of it with no luck. "I can't reach that." Or "That is out of sight."

I could open my body, but not remove anything. Paged a GM with no response... Not that I really expected one. Now, I'm not complaining that I want my stuff back, as my body has inevitably decayed by now. Though frustrating, I can easily recoup my losses (I had thankfully just made a pit stop at the bank before heading to that location, so it was just the basics that I lost).

I simply want to ask if the devs are ever going to fix these buggy terrain areas, or if we as players just have to suck it up, learn where they all are and attempt to avoid them?

I haven't yet since I had nothing on me with which to figure out the exact coordinates. I'm going to as soon as I replace what I lost and grab a sextant.

it's a pain to do, but I try to always do it when this happens to me.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I wonder if it is the actual spot that is glitchy or some freak z-axis bug instead where you happened to die in that split second before dropped down the level on that hill and that put your corpse in an unreachable spot.

Well, wandering around trying to reach my corpse, I kept getting hung up and occasionally falling into the ground while trying to climb up the slope. Going down it seemed to work fine, so I really don't know.

Actually, it seems like it's sitting right on a server line, so that might be causing the issues? Also explains why the air elemental suddenly started chasing me super quick.

yeah, that sounds about right then. I usually have issues when I die on a server line, it's the man reason I stay far away from Bucs Den T-Maps

We had an EM event in that area once.
I think you had to go West, then South and then back East again to reach the body or something like that. But can´t remember if it worked tbh.

Isn't there a server-line right there? If so you should be able to reach your body from the other side of it.

Edit: yeah, there's definitely a server line there. sometimes if you cross it you can see objects on both sides, but it's really only on one side of the line where you're able to do anything with it.

Yeah, first time in a long time that I've had a character without any stat modifiers... I didn't even realize there was a server line there until after the fact yesterday.

Yup. Corpse was out of sight.

These places are literally littered all over T2A and in dungeons. There are places where you can walk through enemy paralyze fields simply because the fields in places are a tile and greater over the ground.

probably the client needed to be resynced by re-opening your paperdoll

same reason sometimes you can't get in your house - i bet you could have looted your corpse if you were in sync properly and standing on the right side of the server line

Yeah, I wish. I tried that, and even tried shutting down UO completely and restarting. Nothing worked.
