Anyone else Losing Connection over and over?

Okay I'm in Luna in my house on a noobie char of mine and in under an hour I have lost connection 6 times.
What the?????? I'm rummaging my chests and boxes looking for a lost item. Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas what might be causing it?

Okay I'll break it down. In my luna house which is also a rune library I was looking for a lost item I was rummaging through my various boxes, crates and chests. I'd go to open a chest or move, I would freeze up and get Connection Lost. I would have to log in again. The fourth time I lost conn, when I tried to log in I got an error unable to synchronize the world...huh? I closed UO completely, reopened it and was able to log in. I have noticed this happening a lot since a *ahem* new neighbor moved in. It might just be coincidence, I don't know. Anyone else experiencing connection problems?

Okay... let's just create some drama from nothing.

Have you run a trace route, monitored your connection, called your ISP and all the usual connection detective work that should be done first? If I have intermittent connection issues, I let UO Trace run for some time to look for packet losses, pings, lag spikes and whatnot - FIRST. Then I look for other causes.

New neighbor has no control over your isp connection :p And yeah, happens to me a lot, all over the place, spawns, luna, anywhere. Don't always lose conn, but when I do it's that synchro message. Makes crafting a total pancake, and sorting a box really bites, set it down, it appears 20 secs later and what you just did next is always "you must wait to do another action" or something like that, I've got to where I just ignore it and accept it.

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE suggesting another player may have ANYTHING to do with their connection loss in this game seriously needs their head checked.

This has nothing to do with in game mechanics. This is an ISP issue or your local router/LAN. It is possible it is a UO server issue, but certainly nothing that can be affected by another player.

Unless they have your password and are sapping bandwidth on your wifi, I don't know what they would have to do with your connection.

I was having connection problems before I came back in another game. I was raising hell on their forums about it. I decided to check my connections and I guess while moving the modem to dust the connection became loose over time. I went around and tightened everything and it worked awesome lol. But I did have comcast come to my house once. My wiring in the house was like 15 or 20 years old and they rewired the whole house for free :) That first showed up as a TV problem as I was having trouble with on demand programs stopping, waiting to load, and such.

There is a lot of talk about comcast using everyone's modems to make their areas a big giant hotspot. Not sure I like the idea. Hopefully that test doesn't work out. I wouldn't want a ton of people using my modem for their hotspot lol.

My money is on the drop to the house or in the area if the connections are tight. I'd ask some neighbors how theirs is doing. My cat chewed through a monitor cable once. Can't trust animals. I bought a new monitor, went to hook it up and the cable was trashed lol. Nice to have a spare monitor...

yup only if its open and not secured with password. we use a rotor password protected . Sept 4st We're getting comcast business pack phone cable and internet which will be 3 or 4 times faster modem will have the rotor built in. My brother said plus your pc into a rotor adds a firewall and being password protected makes you invisible to others.

UOA has been causing that ever since the servers got moved to AWS. That message pops up after mistyping your account password and correctly logging in a second time. If I choose a character, my client will crash for sure. So at that prompt, I click OK, then click all the way back and enter my password again.

Comcast has already started this, and it's such BS. For several weeks I've seen one in my immediate area. The claim is that it won't slow down your home network (ha!), that outsiders can't get into your home LAN (I simply can't trust that assurance with a router I didn't choose myself), and that customers can opt out (it's always the case that you can opt out until you can't). My biggest problem is that unless there's additional hardware to get a second IP address, anyone using that will still be using the customer's own. A Comcast login is no deterrent since it could have been stolen from a compromised computer or device.

The solution is to use your own router, at minimum. Get your own cable modem to stop paying their exhorbitant rental fees anyway.

I think everyone has a password on their modem. But in this instance it doesn't matter. Comcast is making them usable to anyone. They hope to make a big wifi net.

Yeah, Comcast's rental fee is up to like $8/mo now for a basic cable modem. I paid $80 for one a few months ago to replace the already-well-used one they issued me four and a half years ago. I don't know why I didn't do it years earlier, I guess I was still in the "I'm waiting for FiOS to come" mentality. And then FiOS rolled out in my neighborhood and Comcast offered me a better deal.

I really hate Comcast. But they're service is so solid when it's rolling right I'm just their b*tch lol

Okay so what's it mean?

Btw, BEFORE everyone starts ripping off my head and handing it to me, I understood that if a player was running certain unmentionable programs while playing UO that it could cause other players to lose conn because it disrupts the packet stream.
I do not know if its true; I have only heard this, so don't shoot the messenger.

I am not on Comcast (yuk!). I am on ATT U-Verse. I am playing on my laptop via Wi-Fi. I am not running UO Assist.

Hopefully someone can tell me why I start losing conn like mad.

After only a few minutes of play I lost connection while traveling through gates a moment ago.

umm .. where did Atlantic go? (tried to log in a moment ago and no Shard Atlantic)

Maybe the shard is having the problem and not you. Wait and see if it heals itself.

There's nothing we can do to interrupt your packet stream... that's a myth. There are ways to make you lag, but not to disconnect you

Yes, and second time I log in I'm also fine. When first started happening I just stopped using assist just log in to uo cc.
