GMs will not replace lost or stolen items NOT even if you bought it from Origin store, and NOT even if you still have your receipt. I was just informed by Legends EM. She also says boat can be stolen even IF you secure them. I did not argue with her as she was insistent about this. I had an run-in with said EM and I am done with UO. this is the final straw. I don't want talk about it or anything else UO related anymore. I'll be listing mine and Luc's items we've accumulated over twelve years in the trades forums. I will be giving all away and arranging meetings in game to give stuff to those who want it.

If there is a chance the GMs will replace it, it would be foolish to not even attempt calling a GM on it. An EM is not a game official, so their statement wouldn't hold much water.

And no offense, Jirel, but you said you are done with UO numerous times in the past to the point where no one really takes it seriously. So you must forgive everyone for not saying goodbye. This should also mean that you shouldn't take yourself seriously either and refrain from giving your stuff away since you don't want to come back to this game with all your stuff gone.

If you purchased the Brit ship yourself, using your account info, and placed if on your account, a GM can and will retrieve it. How do I know this you ask? I recently lost mine, was patient in waiting, and a GM finally came and retrieved it. It's attached to your account, unlike the ones you buy in game. Your stuff will be gone, but hey you will have your ship!

That's true, but I sort of feel like if you can't afford an odd 20 dollar loss you probably can't afford UO at all, let alone be buying completely unnecessary things like the big boat on the item store.

Especially someone who clearly has at least 3 accounts, and I wouldn't be shocked to learn, actually many more.

On the other hand if you lose a pay shop item to a game issue and not your own negligence that could rub even a well heeled person the wrong way, and lead them to take their business to a company that would make more of an effort to right the wrong. It's a valid complaint.

On the third hand (that's right) I cannot think of a poster who, despite seeming like a generally good natured person, launches into histrionics on these forums quite nearly as often as Jirel.

Also am I the only one who thinks of the scene from Psycho where Norman is dressed up as his mother any time she mentions her "sister"?

I am somewhat concerned that the galleon decay fix may not be working properly on all shards.....
I will continue to monitor these galleons and try to let them decay for at least 36 hours between refreshing them. Maybe a few more people could help with this at well. And if you do have galleons in the water at this point, please don't assume the publish automatically re-started the decay process. I kind of doubt that it did and if your galleon was already more decayed than it should have been, you could be in danger of losing it if you don't log in and refresh it soon.

I emailed Mesanna last week on my issue. She replied at first, but I haven't heard anything from her since last Friday.

I was jumped on by an Event Moderator. Why I don't know! All know she's insists that "my ship was stolen" and "you are never going to get it back so don't bother the GMs about it". She teleported to ME in my UO house now unless you have some EM repellant, how can I stop her? Legends is DEAD at 10 am on Saturday morning. There was me, my guild mate Zath and Wong Way Ya. We were joking in Gen chat.
I never got a GM, I suspect I never WILL. I have my own ideas about things but I'll not share them! As far as my possessions go there mine to do with as I please. If I want to run starkers through Luna bank throw mill checks then so be it!

You do realize you never said in this thread that you paged a GM, but that you were "jumped on" by an EM, so getting all green texted and indignant, with someone trying to be helpful, probably isn't called for.

I would also advise you to actually page a GM and wait for them to show up. Try doing so not at peak hours as well, as they will probably come faster. I know its annoying to have to wait an hour to get one to show up, but they are usually pretty helpful, and others have had success getting purchased ships back by paging. So give it a try.

If that fails shoot Messana a message.

I'm sorry for teasing you, it's all in good, if slightly mean spirited fun, but you have to realize how easy you make it for people. Claiming you are quitting at least twice in this month is a good example.

When I paged a GM to come to Oceania and fix my negative physical resist it only took him about 20 mins to turn up, might even have been less. I was very happy.

Seriously, take a couple days off and let yourself cool down. You always seem to go through these phases, threaten to quit, then a week later (or a couple days) you come back like nothing ever happened.

Actually, the EM is mistaken. Boats can be sunk, they can be sailed away, but they can't be taken out of the water by anyone but the owner. If it's afloat you can recall/gate to it using the rune.
I should know, Nightstalker found my boat on Siege, sailed it away, scuttled it, emptied the hold and stole my cannons, but the boat was still mine and I recovered it simply by gating to it and repairing it.

They could take 6 months to get this publish out (I think there close to that time frame) and there will still be kinks so they should just roll it out and fix it along the way......
